You ever notice that everyone who believes in creationism looks really unevolved? Eyes real close together, big furry hands and feet. "I believe God created me in one day." Yeah, looks like he rushed it.

I got my copy of the Last Stand Of the Wreckers hardcover today.

Oh my giddy aunt does this book look FANTASTIC in this format! And NOTHING beats the satisfaction of holding a published book in your hands that you contributed to.

A proud day at HdE towers!

Went to see RAMMSTEIN last night and they were fucking ARSOM. They put on a tremendous show and would greatly reccomend it to anyone even if you are not into that genre of music. Just about every song played had something going on. I was blown away. Fucking ARSOM

Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

...a couple of friends came 'round for a visit last night. It was a case of Southern Comforts 'til dawn and an epic game of Scrabble. Needless to say I won the match with this word:

Last night I managed 11 hours of blissful, uninterrupted sleep.

Went up in the attic today, and brought down three longboxes. On looking through and sorting out, I found Swamp Thing Vol 2 #36-162 (plus sundry other earlier Swampies from that volume, volume 1 and volumes 3 and 4), Hellblazer #51-118 plus fourteen later issues up to #182, whole reams of Shadow of the Bat/ Legends of the Dark Knight (including the Kevin O'Neill one), loads of thirty year old Batman and Detectives, porno comics, horror comics and a hidden wodge of Spidey. Also White Trash #1-2, Brats Bizarre #1, Accident Man #1 and #3, Sex Warrior #2 and a first printing of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #1. Oh, and Alan Moore's Vigilante issues for DC. And hundreds of Star Wars, Aliens and Predator comics, all my Thing From Another Worlds that were mentioned here the other day, and tons of Alpha Flight.

I had forgotten I had most of this- and the Swamp Things/ Hellblazers were a complete surprise as I thought I'd got rid over ten years ago to a shop in Dublin. W00t!

Emperor

I've had a lovely birthday weekend - out with my friends last night to a new Turkish restaurant and then the pub, followed by Jamie's Italian restaurant with the family. Slightly let down by my baby nephew sticking his finger in his eye and having to be taken to hospital (he's fine but we'll have words, later).

I'm not going to have to have a snooze before I can properly go through all my pressies :)
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

I love the way you managed to bury 'porno comics' in that list

managed a couple of good nights compering for my wife's choir. I got laughs or was sincere where I needed to be. The choir and guests were really good*. The Beatles finale was fantastic and we managed to raise £800 for Macmillan Nurses and for Chrohns and Collitis UK.

* There is so much spectauclar talent out there who just get down to the business of learning and plying their trade in gigs and pubs and clubs etc. and don't see BGT and X-FACTOR as a short-cut or "their only escape" or "this is my only chance". People who want to be good at singing and performing rather than people who want to be famous.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Something happened today that was just so awesome... so utterly, untouchably, life-alteringly fantastic, that nothing will ever bring me down from my vertiginous heights of delirium.

My Godzilla movies arrived in the post!
