"Apple have in my view quite cynically held this well established technology back from the current Iphone, so that they have something to add to and crow about when the the next one comes out."

Yes. It's nothing to do with the fact that 3G would have made the battery life a fraction of what it currently is, thereby rendering the entire iPhone device pointless, clearly.

Mm. Talk to them - it's the only way. I had a classic a couple of years back - I paid my taxes, but also had a massive rebate due (from when I was taxed fully, despite living overseas). I got my refund and cashed it, not really taking much notice of the amount. I then got a lovely letter a few days later with a massive fine attached for "not paying my tax". Turns out they'd refunded the taxes I'd paid along with the refund that was due, and then decided to fine me, because I'd not paid my taxes, despite the fact that I had - they'd just wrongly refunded me.

In the end, my accountant sorted it, and the fine was dropped "as a gesture of good faith".

One thing I would highly recommend doing if you do call the tax office: record the conversation, so you can refer to it later. While in my experience Inland Revenue staff are nothing short of amazingly helpful, I have found that note-taking hasn't always happened entirely accurately.

"I't's black as it should be, it's how Ezquerra draws it, so it's black."

Black with a blue sheen is the usual opinion from art droids (not least because blue looks more interesting than straight black). Of course, when you're talking about dyed or printed colour, there's no such thing as 'black black' anywayĆ¢??all black colouring tends towards another colour, be it red, blue or green. That's part of the reason why it's actually very hard to match black clothing from different lines.

Well, I didn't claim the art was any good!

"Who is the artist?"

A certain chap who people thought would never illustrate anything for 2000 AD again after a somewhat high-profile exit... Ay-yi-yi! (It's Mr. Gibson.)

Help! / Re: Shelves and bookcases............

Oddly enough, we're planning on doing the reverse, which will mean all my trades making their way from their current position in the lounge to my office upstairs. Apparently, we're heading (by mutual consent - my wife isn't bothered by there being a couple of hundred trades in the lounge) for 'minimal', although my office is currently rather closer to 'tip'. That said, my new cunning 2000 AD storage (ten big-arse white comics boxes) has improved matters a little on that score.

"Are they reasonably sturdy, all thing considered?"

We have four of them. One has all but one shelf packed with trades. The other three have an empty top shelf, and the remainder either full of CDs (two high per shelf) or DVDs. So, yeah, they're pretty sturdy, I'd say.

Our cheapo Billy bookcases from IKEA seem to do the job.

Books & Comics / Re: Zenith Titan books

Bear in mind with eBay that 'searchability' is a good thing. These auctions have very brief titles, but you might fare a little better with 'Zenith phase 1 book 1 2000AD 2000 AD Morrison' or something similar.

Bearing in mind they're almost certain to not get a reprint, you should keep them if you don't need the money. If it's about space, they're only five books! If you need the cash, bung 'em on eBay and get the most you can for them.

General / Re: Ro-Busters Trade?

I would have gone for 'largely complete' and 'including all the important stuff'. As for Strontium Dog, while plenty of people here complained about the Agency Files stopping where they did, how many actually contacted Jon directly, to back the idea of a fifth volume, rather than a standalone Final Solution?

As far as I understand it, 'complete' in the sense of Strontium-Dog-collection 'complete'.

It's called 'Complete Ro-Busters', so that should give you a good idea of the contents.

"Do Rebellion keep back issues of EEs ?"

Yes.

"If a print run of EES sells out does that mean a strip moves up the league tables into a TPB ?"

No, but it means it's more likely to be up for consideration. By the same token, any EE that sells badly is unlikely to have content that will make its way to trade format.
