I really like those. Especially the lawgiver.
Would love to see an`The Art Of Dredd 3D`book.
I'd buy that for a dollar.

Haha ok, scrap that. The lawbuggy it is!
Wonderful work. You can see how the artist began with something real shotgun/motorbike etc and created from it a design realistic enough to fit into the futuristic world of Judge Dredd.
You can even see a little evolution in the designs ie: the shoulder pads.
AFAIAC that lawgiver 1 is the version I will draw from now on (don't hold me to that).
Always preferred it all black/dk grey.
Beautiful stuff...loving the cityscapes, wasn't too much deviation from page to screen either, except to strip it down a little further than the concepts.
A talented crew for this film indeed.

I really hope that put together a nice shiny high gloss book of all of this.
If the film is successful Lionsgate might do that.
Well looks like it's going to do good business in the UK so hopefully we'll get one. We all know the score with the $50M box office needed in the States to get a sequel, but I've been seeing things about the apparent weak advertising in the States despite all the very positive reviews and feedback it's been getting. You'd think the reaction at San Diego Comic Con would tip off the distributers that the massive comic and sci-fi crowd in the US were very keen on this movie. I'm hoping this isn't true or turns out to be an issue.

LOVE the alternative Lawmaster on that site, nice find! :)
I wonder how much variance there was from the start of pre-viz to the point they were ready to go?
Were there concepts that leaned closer to the mc1 of the comics. These would suggest they had a very concrete idea of what they wanted from early on.
Only the shot from outside the wall on the previous page looks like they might've had a stab at the packed with crazy architecture style from the strip.
Last time I saw brutalist architecture like that was in Gateshead :)

Da-Da, ha ha! There's a Greggs on every level selling Slo-Mo Slices.
Heh.
Slows your stomach down to 1% it's normal speed?
And your bowels to 500%
That topmost alternative Lawmaster is the one to go for in the sequel, and is without a doubt the one they should have used in the movie as is. My only guess is it was too expensive this time around, because I don't think there's anyone in the world who would have moaned if we'd've seen that. Just fantastic! The best Lawmaster on film is the Minty literal-translation of the comic, but that one would come a very close second. As opposed to the one we have coming a close second because the only other one was that electric zimmer that Stallone briefly rode from one end of the studio to the other before it fell over.

Don't know where you saw that. Dredd is being advertised very well here in Los Angeles by Lionsgate. Posters everywhere and TV spots pretty regularly. If it doesn't make $50 mil, it won't be down to the lack of advertising.
D o you think that could be the Deredd uniform that Mr Wagner thought was too riot coppy?

Actually, it was from a link on here to a magazine article that the poster had written. I can't remember what thread it was in though, I'll see if I can find it. I am however delighted to hear that this sounds like it was bullshit :)

Obviously, its gonna be Stallone heavy (i know....), but flicking through this at the time, and if my memorys correct, there was a nice section about how the comic version of Dredd developed, similar to what was seen in the Mega-history book.

I brought a copy that was lurking in my local second hand shot. The Kev Walker art is indeed lovely and as he uses the comic Dredd uniform in all the art, not the film one it is refreshingly Stallone lite. Not essential but well worth the groats if you can pick it up at a reasonable price.

Hey fellas, did you know that WE were the first to see Jock's movie concept art in the whole world, on this very fourm?
Let me take you back to Chrismas Eve 2009, the 2000AD advent calendar was in fine form and the 24th, as usual, was the free for all and creator day. Jock was kind enough to send us a nice image of Dredd's chin, which can be seen here: http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,26979.msg479784.html#msg479784 (http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,26979.msg479784.html#msg479784)

I'm afraid that's pretty much all I've got left. After I left to come to Wales, my old machine was annexed by the company and repurposed, and my colleague never got around to making a backup of my hard drive for me.. Effectively erasing four years of work, including Dredd.

True. So never say never, then.
My mind was maybe thinking of times past when just about every film released recieved a shed load of Tie-in material, which isnt the case nowadays sadly. Online stuff can be plentiful - and a big thank you to

Nothing wrong with the bike we got, as the thrill of the opening chase demonstrates, but that Triumph Rocket practically
is a Lawmaster. Strap your machine guns on and stick a big eagle on the front and we're off!

You could've at least made the effort to join those last two up properly ::)
I get paid for that kind of thing.
Lawmaster concept-art by Mark Seberini:

"I was contracted by a company called Apocalypse in Cape Town to help design the Dredd motorbike (lawmaster) for the 2012 Dredd movie which was shot in Johannesburg and Cape Town. From drawings to 3D mock-ups and then to production models so that the fabricators could build in real life. A dream project" (http://www.outworld.co.za/)
Wow... I know some of you don't like it but I do want that Lawmaster! :)
I like the lawmaster a lot , thought it fitted the feel of movie very well . It just needs a big eagle emblem slapping on the front :D

The Lawmaster looked great on screen and that's all that really mattered to me.
