Bought the Saga trade today too. Last week I picked up the fantastic first volumes of both The Manhattan Projects and Glory. Image are on a bit of a high at the minute with all these brilliant series.

You're lucky mate, 'cos it looks like i'll have to wait a little while longer. Amazon says 23rd, but i'll most likely pre-order. I checked out the pics for Building Stories (over at the other forum) and it looks absolutely awesome!

Finished Saga Vol 1 a few mins ago.  Its worth a read - the art is great, the story OK.  For such a big galaxy though the world that is being created feels a little empty IMO. Prophet on the other hand...

I just did a little while ago! First impressions? Really good. The art by Fiona Staples is really brilliant. The story and the dialogue by Vaughan is very adult orientated just like Y - and very enjoyable to boot. I read somewhere that Vaughan wrote Saga in a way that it would be hard for Hollywood to adapt (what with all the business with Y), and he's got it spot on in my view. Just the opening scene grabs you by the scruff of the neck, and you realise this is one sci-fi saga which is very different from Star Wars or Star Trek indeed! I will definitely purchase the trade as I wanted more after the 1st issue!

I also read Invincible #1 while I was at it (again it was free), I really enjoyed the premise. And so thats another comic I look forward to reading down the line.

On another note, i'm STILL waiting for my copy of Y The Last Man Book 3 to be delivered - its been more than 6 days now, and i've a feeling those bas*ards at Royal Mail might've 'misplaced' it.

But has anyone else seen either Judge Dredd: Cry of the Werewolf or Glyn Dillon's Nao of Brown through Diamond yet? Both allegedly shipped last week.

This sudden surge of progs in the correct order on a regular basis are a bit tasty, aren't they. You'd think that there was a fillum coming out or summat. 

Looks like Diamond will be returning to monthly prog packs as of Prog 1808 going by Previews.

Beyond the House of Tharg it was just Crossed Badlands #15 with the first part of David Hine's arc for Stevie this week.

Anyone still reading Punk Rock Jesus? Oh man I don't think I've read such a bad comic in years. Couldn't decide what was worse - the awful shoehorn anti-christian lessons, the hilarious weird Belfast IRA history or the finale of 'jesus' vs the media. Actually looking forward to the next issue to see if he can continue the hoary ineptness of it all.

Weird I'd heard nothing but good things about Punk Rock Jesus... so was I mishearing?

The guy can draw (although its definitely suffering from being overworked now) but the plot was simply dumb at the start (much like Spaceman riffing on a anti-media corporation vibe) but in the latest issue all the potentially 'oh god, don't go there' stuff has blown up spectacularly. Its hilariously bad quasi-teen angst rebellion tosh.

If you ever cringed at the 'Orish' bits of Sons Of Anarchy, you'll fall off your chair at this take on it. But even that pales beside the 'must offend Christians' nonsense.
