Anyone else reading John Arcudi's 'The Creep'? Enjoying this very much so far. The titular 'Creep' is a Private Eye with acromegaly, and is quite clearly modelled on the famed B-movie actor Rondo Hatton. It's a poignant tale so far, quite downbeat and with very little action but very well done.

Yup, some great relationships been revealed and very different to a lot that's out there as there's nothing supernatural or crazy, so far.
This week its Manhattan projects, i have no idea where this is going, and love it. Has it been a long time since the last one or does it just feel like it?
Dial H this weeks a break i think before the next arc, hopefully just a chance for more melville characters.
Hypernaturals, could be for the chop, just not excited about it might have to be swapped for Ronin if it doesn't do it for me this week.
Very possibly Colder due to the cover.
I really need to save up for next week as well as Dark horse have 2 very exciting one shots on the way.

This is only the second time in my life that I've heard of Rondo Hatton - the first of course being that Dredd tale waaaaaaaay back when Dredd face-changes himself to infiltrate a gang and Bolland drew him as Hatton. So he may not be well known as an actor, but he's certainly seems to be an inspiration to comic creators!

Well, i shan't be buying any further issues of The Phantom Stranger. Having read #0 last night, i can say with some certainty it's the biggest crock of dogshit i've seen all year, with a bland story in which nothing of any interest happens (stranger is judas iscariot is he? Thought he always was) and that nothing interesting doesnt really hang together into a proper story- and art which is so dated and stilted as to reduce the entire package to an absolute chore to read. Cross that one off the list.

Actually the PS never officially had a solid origin story (well, prior to this horrible mess)- he had four, but the Judas Iscariot one was by far the most popular and referred to in other stories.

I don't blame you dropping it though, pretty awful stuff and a waste of a great character.


Can't wait to pick up Storm Dogs at Though Bubble next week, Hine is really underrated.

This is an interesting week for me. Because I just bought an iPad! Been wanting one for a looooooong time, primarily because I'm ready to make some serious changes to my comic buying habits. In the future I hope to buy the majority of my comics digitally. If I was a man of principle I should probably just buy ALL of my regular comics digitally. But part of me is still slightly invested in some runs I collect (Savage Dragon, Fables, Walking Dead, Invincible, etc... basically anything I've been collecting for a really long time). Which is probably faulty thinking. I might use Invincible 100 as a clean break point, it might not be too late to do the same with Walking Dead... Anyway I've got physical comics preordered until January, so major changes to my pull list probably won't start till then anyway.

EXTERMINATION #6 - Apparently this series ends with issue 8. Which is probably a good thing in the long run. I like the series conceptually, I feel the exection is a little flakey and got off topic a bit. So having an ending is probably for the best.
FABLES: WEREWOLVES OF THE HEARTLAND HC - Only a year late! But I love Fables one-shot GNs!
INVINCIBLE #97 - Like I said, I think I'm going to have issue 100 be my last physical issue. Not because I've tired of the book, far from it. I'm actually really getting excited about where the series is going leading into issue 100.
LEGION LOST #14 - This series is slated to be cancelled with issue 16. Which is too bad, because despite how hard it makes it sometimes I still kinda like this book. Really REALLY hope the Lost Legionnaires end up back in the future at the end though. I really don't want them stuck in limbo in the 20th century, wasted.
PUNK ROCK JESUS #5 - Last issue saw the 'Punk Rock' part of the title finally manifest. A really great book that seems to be flying under the radar.
SAGA #7 - Oh sweet lord god, yes. Saga is BACK. Honestly not sure if I want to switch to digital on this one yet.
SAUCER COUNTRY #9 - Book seems to be kinda spinning it wheels right now. I mean... its good. But its not blowing me away like it did in its first arc. Still absolutely gorgeous though. Definitely going digital on it.
THE MASSIVE #6 - Really REALLY want to like this series. But the pacing is just... off. There's no sense of urgency.
THE WALKING DEAD #104 - Still really solid.

I think this will be my last massive, though I've said that for the last 2 editions i think, so who knows but i think this will be a good time to leap off as 1-6 is the first trade collection, if i miss it can can buy the next trade. I can't imagine missing it, i can't tell you about any of the characters or what they're trying to achieve.

Batman #14, #13 was brilliant, just worried about the mass crossover, i don't want all the other titles.

Punk rock Jesus i really enjoy, i like the characters and hope there is a great pay off for Jesus coming up, i even like the feel of the paper in this, just me? Thought it would be.

Bloodshot#5 prob the last one here as well, i think i just got sucked in by #4's cover coming along that saw saw way in advance.

Creep#3 awesome and so glad it's a short story. Always leave me wanting more!!!!!!!!

i just read the Saga trade, it read so well all in one i'm going to be a big boy and wait until the next one rather than going monthly.

i started to put my pulls up but never mention 2000AD which is by far and away the best thing i'm reading especially the simping detective, i wish that was on my pull list as a stand alone.

FABLES #123 - Still digging it. We're kinda in a bit of a filler arc, getting some more Bigby Wolf backstory. This might be one of the few titles I keep reading in print simply due to having been reading it for ages. Or I'll switch to digital with 125. Probably would be a good break point.
JUDGE DREDD #1 - So America is taking another crack at writing Judge Dredd. I'm not totally convinced it can be a success. BUT, the preview suggests the writer might understand the sort of ubsurd world Mega City One is. So... maybe hope? Will be switching to digital in JAN.
LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #14 - For all its warts I still dig this title. At the very least I love the characters. Will probably be going Digital on it in JAN.
SAVAGE DRAGON #183 - Dragon's back on Earth. And its time for the final showdown with the new Overlord. A story that's been bubbling for years. Savage Dragon is definitely the one book I won't be switching to digital on right away.

I did likewise, not having read any Spidey in an age. I have doubts it will last, I reckon it'll be someone else after issue 700, but we'll see. Was kinda [spoiler]telegraphed by one of the future covers[/spoiler] I thought?

Well actually seems you are right, shows what I know. The general consensus seems to be that this will stick around for a while at least. Its stated almost as fact, so seems to be the case (though who knows). Just struck me as odd that such a significant change would happen in 698 rather than 700. Though to be honest I've not read Spidey in years and years and so have no idea of the context that surrounds this and how people think 700 might end?
