Format is easy. Simply look at the list in the next post - and post your top three in a reply to this thread - just make sure to clearly indicate your order using the format below - with the points awarded for each placing:

(1st, foremost and best) = 5 points
(2nd runner up) = 3 points
(Bronze who cares really) = 1 point

If you don't make it clear I'll award all your mentioned votes 3 points each.

The vote will run for a week and I'll announce the winner early Monday 11th January

Ugh, my braaaaain.  In an effort to simplify my choice - I've a short list of 15 that I'm struggling to rank - I'm going to go for those artists who I feel really pushed their own work to another level this year.  I'm also going to try to avoid artists on stories that I've already voted for elsewhere, except where unavoidable. As a result, I find myself leaving off some of my usual faves, which is good:

1. Tiernan Trevallion. 
2. Neil Googe.
3. Dan Cornwell.

Waffle:
1. I've always liked TT's art, but I'd often see people absolutely raving about it, and not really felt quite that level of excitement myself. I feel it now. Every bit of his Fiends run was perfectly designed and crystal clear, in a story that required a new setting and characters almost every week. Fantastic.
2. Googe has always been a favourite of mine but with the sheer scope and design of the finale, with its Kirbyesque cosmic vistas and delicate but obvious twists on the alternate characters, and the precision of the subtle shifts in style in the epilogue, plus that amazing final cover, he really went that extra hundred miles.   
3. Dan is an artist whose work I've been a bit cool about in previous years, feeling his action maybe lacked a certain weight, but this year he stepped into no-less-gigantic a pair of boots than Colin MacNeil's and, as with so many citizens and judges, he just blew me away. Definitive Dredd artist in the making.

HMs are genuinely legion, but a sample:

Austin's parade of distinctive Simp characters went beyond what anyone could expect.
Burns' truly magnificent character work on The Order.
Flint's batshit designs on Proteus Vex.
Gallagher's brilliantly balanced reveals on Hook-Jaw.
PJ's vibrant living Mega-City 1 in Chimpsky's Law,
Harrison playing to his every strength on The Out .
Higgins' incredible blend of contemporary realism and SciFi on Dreadnaughts.
Lynch's art came of age in his beautifully polished work on The Relic.
Ocana's wonderfully consistent freshness on Full Tilt Boogie.
Radhakrishnan's spectacularly atmospheric work on Mytek the Mighty.
Taylor's deepest noir shadings over art deco in Megatropolis.
Winslade's masochistic musical spectacular on Lawless.

I could go on, really I could. 83 artists in one year! I think that if Tharg keeps on firing out a dozen specials plus Regeneds a year, we might need several of these threads to really give everyone their due.

In a surprise I'm not going for my usual favourites of Flint - for me his art on Proteus Vex and End of Days just didn't seem as good as his normal level and Willsher - he just hasn't done enough for Tharg lately. We need to see him much more regularly in the Prog in general and on Dredd in particular.
