The Glasgow MCM Expo is this weekend, anyone going? Fan or creator-droid?
is there any 2000ad content?
doesn't look like it - the comics line-up is here (http://www.mcmcomiccon.com/scotland/attractions/comic-village/).
These MCM expos are more geared towards the celeb guests and cosplayers, and if the manchester one is any guide, hideously overcrowded.
Yeah, but still, probable comics fans and comic buying, I can support that. :)
a big success... if you like queues:

not at all surprised by that - they seem to sell as many tickets as they can and then worry about cramming 'em in later. the queue for the Manchester one looked horrendous as I passed by this year, right round the building and then zig-zagging across the car park.
The London one in May had 85,000 over the event and that's part of the reason that they are opening the other hall at the ExCeL this coming one.
I stood in a queue once for 2hrs and 50 mins with Sam and I was not happy!
The MCM and LFCC usually have a comic area, but it's not the main concern.
MCM seems more about promoting the latest media, and the LFCC (and similar) is more about the guests.
Personally I've found LFCC more fun, better queue control and less crowded (though still busy) compared to the MCM ones (which have been very crowded and poorly handled for queueing)
There's also the London SuperComicCon, which is obviously purely comic focused.
Personally, I think there are far too many cons packed into the year, it could do with one or two decent London cons that are close to SDCC.
The problem is you've got different organisers so it's not going to happen.

yeah, seems a bit like the late eighties(?) when every publisher saw the comics bandwagon and jumped on it, there was a glut then a famine.
I imagine there is only so much geek pound ( what colour is that one?) out there, so a number of these will fail, or specialise, while the bigger brasher ones become the mainstay.
