Yep, Dredd did indeed die in this strip, but we're talking "final demise", what would be a suitable, Dredd-like way to go?

And I think Rico Mk 1 killed by Rico Mk 2 might have introduced some inspiration into the Helter Skelter "epic"(!) but each to their own on this one.

Yeah I remember the Red Razors story, I thought it was odd the way he was introduced like that, seems odd to have him on ice rather than the streets, unless like in the Razors strip he's kept for top priority cases or his ego gets the better of him and decides when "he" wants to take a case, lol.

being realistic though, how old is Joe now? is it 55/56? I do think Rico will will be brought in eventually, time will only tell.

And what of the 7 Dredd/Fargo clones out there?

almost forgot the broken arm in The Apocalypse War, broken ribs in Inferno and a broken jaw fighting a robot many years ago in an illegal boxing match story.

Life can be a pain.

I was just gonna mention the "the outrageous through the head shot too"...

How about also a punctured lung in Judgement Day, shooting himself in the leg at the climax of the Cursed Earth, and stabbing himself in the hand in Raptuer... does this man like pain or what!

I'm a newbie here, so apologies about this question which no doubt been covered, but how do you all think Old Joe will end his days?
must be a baffling dilemma for Mr Wagner...

And is Rico mk2 a suitable replacement!

Hello again, I've managed to dig out some artwork I did way back in the mid 80's at College, perhaps it'll be suitable for the site!?

Is it ok to send the files to you?

Cheers

Nice to know there's other copies out there, I still have a "scratched after use" Space Spinner, the biggest loss is mislaying Issue 2 over the last 5 years or so somewhere, I have loads of UK Issue 1 comics, Starlord, Tornado etc, but I originally had two copies of 2000AD issue 2, and recall bagging one copy with "two" sets of stickers!!! where they are now heaven knows, one of life's losses eh.

Mine's still nicely bagged since the late 70's but a spare is tempting!

(hope the link works, or cut and paste it if you want a look)

Suggestions / Casting?
01 December, 2001, 03:40:58 AM

If you've read the previous postings, you'll see I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this has been covered, but has the casting for the DREDD movies been covered? any proposals?

I'd personally like to see some suitable unknowns get the leads, instead of throwing the budget at an ego driven hollywood star "again"

Much as I enjoyed the movie for what it was, this time it could just work.

I'll certainly do that, I'd heard about your zine many moons ago and have to confess never followed it up, and sent for copies, I will check it out!

Thanks

I've no pics on the web, but it'd be no problem to scan them in and send them if there's address for the fans here, (still finding my way around here!)

Yikes, that's some question, lol.

Well I'm a major Dredd head first and foremost, so although I follow the rest of the strips they are (no disrespect here) secondary to my weekly Dredd fix, I've never been a fan of things like Slane, Halo Jones etc but I rarely pass a strip by (except the Soul Sisters), Harlem Heroes, Button Man, early Robo Hunter, there's numourous others locked in my head!

As for Dredd it has to be the dark Dredd classics, like Jonni Kiss, Better The Devil You Know, (random choices here) and any stories that dig deeper into his world, where there's more to it all that "just" shoot em up element we love Joe for, I felt a bit unsatisfied with the Helter Skelter (although the sly Ruskie shot to the head was classic!).

I own an unused original Ezquerra cover sketch for one of the Apocalypse War Titan reprints, and the Original artwork from 2000AD Prog 17 by Ian Gibson where Dredd shoots "Call Me Kenneth",

I also painted a Dredd mural in Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hopsital (published in 2000ad's Input around two years ago) which formed part of the Offical World's Longest Mural, so Dredd is a big part of my life.

I'm very tempted with the new Dredd figure itself...too near Xmas!

Hope that answers your question!?

Thanks, I "may" just stick around, but as someone mentioned on an earlier posting, it ain't good when a site like this is high profile, and will no doubt get higher with the forthcoming merchandise, moviers etc, perhaps there's a distinct lack of girl/boyfriend/socialising problem here.

And yep "Ed" is fine!
