Who's Tracii Lords?  (I'm not dumb enough to do an internet search for *that* kind of model while at work)

Yay! got a letter in!

Yay! Simping Detective still genius.  Spurious Heights, indeed...

Yay! Anderson's amazing, resonant story and superb art continues!

Yay! Charley's War gets even darker!

Yay! James Swallow's text story is really rather good.  If they're all at this level, I might go and buy one of them books at some point soon!

Yay! Middenface McNulty genuinely affecting!

Yay! Monkey!

Yay! Alan Grant & Shaun Thomas "not crap" Dredd shock!

Boo! Rubbish, bland cover.  Thong doesn't suit Cliff Robinson's realist style - it's just go "up the middle".

Boo! Silly editorial, getting the defense in first, spoiling all the fun!

Boo! Rushed Dredd makes little sense.  Like some things, especially the final line and the subtle hints that Ferreira's not actually been allowed to die.

Boo! Si Spurrier's column needs cutting in half, and (sorry, Simon) someone else writing it.  This is just turgid, clever-clever, unfunny rubbish.

Boo! "Surprise boo of the month" goes to the GRennie column.  I was looking forward to the Extreme Edition, not knowing the story.  Now it all seems a little pointless.

Yay! Spooks by the funny one!

Mega-Yay! to the Comics column - not having the text to hand, I can't remember the name of the guy that was being written about, but it's persuaded me to go out and order a copy.

Overall, much more Yay! than Boo!  Did I mention my letter?

Si Spurrier's column needs cutting in half

You've been speaking to some of his exes, haven't you? ;)

Dudley

Yeah, but funnily they said the exact opposite...

The Best Middenface Story Ever!

Yay! They blew up Dundee! It's most amusing to see Ridgway draw the destruction of your home town.
According to the map, they also managed to destroy Perth, which is where I now live!

This is a perfectly-paced story, with emotion, action and lots of laughs.
"Don't damage the building! It's not paid for yet!" LOL!

I could take up half the board going through this story, panel by panel, and describing why it's great.
The Scottish setting is just icing on the cake.

Alan Grant never lost his mojo! He had it all the time!

More on the rest of the Meg later.

frazer

"Briana Banks."

Well, if u chaps are just gonna start listing porn starlets then we're gonna be here for a loooong time. Informed guesses only, methinks.

F

crazy comic guy

Cover a disapointment. The Simping Detective is the best. Can't cope with all these pages of interveis, about five pages for all of it would of been enough and should be replaced by more DREDD reprints and new strip!

That was an educated guess until I looked at the pic again. She looks dead familiar ... is it Gauge, by any chance?

Thought this was a great issue, apart from the cover (not bothered about the thong or anything, just that after Irving's Demarco she just isn't sexy ENOUGH). Bite Fight seemed to be a set up for the next Waugh tale which looks interesting, Simping Detective was fantastic, Shimura was great (Clarke is one of my favourite AD artists), Anderson was very exciting (can't wait to see how it ends up),Middenface continues to be hilarious and touching at the same time, the dredd fiction was good but nothing special, and "2%" was good with some excellent artwork. I didn't even find Charley as dull as usual, and the features were genuinely pretty absorbing. Only real sour point was Rennie ruining Mach1 for me, was looking forward to reading that...

Oh, and I don't really have a clue who Frazer's modelling his characters on but after Demarco last month and the last frame of this month's Simpin' I'd like to meet them.

I have to say I loved the cover this month as, for me, it's a welcome change to see the portrayal of real women, curves and all, in a comic book.

Don't get me wrong, there's nowt wrong with Frazer's depiction, but there's something about Cliff Robinson's cover that makes them seem much more 'real' that your generic pron-star bodied, perfect woman.

To be fair, that's pretty much what Demarco would look like if she really DID wear that thong and her body seems much more the kind of body you'd expect of an ex-street judge ... IMHO
