Ballsed up the links there. If only we could edit posts in the reviews section.

From this.

"How many big heids can you fit in one wee bottle?"

Is what we used to ask about poppers thirty years ago when one of my pals had the great idea of each taking a big sniff then trying to play Street Fighter.

"Dude! That smells like ass."

Is what an American friend said to the young man who tried to offer us some in a Belfast nightclub ten years ago.

No further incidents to report.

Spent altogether too much time trying to figure out exactly where the first episode of Harrower Squad was supposed to be set. There's a St Kent's Academy in Whitburn and a couple of churches a bit too far away from the dead centre. None quite fit.

However, episode two gives us something more substantial to go on. The abandoned cinema the team hide out in...

... is unquestionably the Showcase in Coatbridge.

Finally, my time has come. What better name for the trooper sent in to take out enemy sentries under cover of darkness.

Presumably the colouring on Stainless Steel Rat is from the Eagle Comics reprints (like the Nemesis one) rather than something completely new. Did Carlos colour that himself? I know he did the covers.

Other Reviews / Re: Which thrills have you skipped?

Original strips. Not only don't I skip anything, I try to reread every story in full once it's finished. I'm a bit behind with that at the moment though.

Reprint strips. Depends.

Text articles. Doubt I've read one since 2017.

Quote from: Barrington Boots on 22 January, 2024, 09:35:21 AM...I've always found it odd that Joe has an 'everyman' name and Rico has an 'exotic tough guy' name when they're clone twins. Unless Rico is short for Richard?
Just like those other famous crime-fighting brothers Charlie and Emilio.

Pretty sure a recent preview said Kingmaker was back for a final series early in the new year.

Quote from: Colin YNWA on 20 December, 2023, 07:55:40 AMI've never read Kill your boyfriend and know nothing about it but with that creative team that's gotta be worth checkin' out. I know I will be!

Kill Your Boyfriend would be pretty high on my list of all time favourite Morrison stories.

It's a sort of breezy 90s kitchen sink take on the same themes of identity and freedom which The Invisibles ties itself in knots over and Bond's wonderful art ties it together beautifully.

A truly marvellous thread Colin.

I don't know how you can write them so quickly that i don't even have time to comment in between.

I didn't realise Nina Petrova was in the original Johnny Red stories. I assumed it was Garth doing a sort of stealth crossover with his Night Witches stories.

Me too. Except I didn't finally get it, I had it explained to me by Pete Wells.

Complete Button Man Apex

Of Arthur Ranson Apex

I'm really torn as I LOVE his Anderson... but come on complate Button Man original reprint... wow...
Button Man is a great story but it's on Anderson where he really gets to go wild with the art. A Ransom art book without any of those big splash pages from Satan would be a shame.

Hang on. Are we saying that Carrie and The Running Man aren't great films now?!

Do we know if McMahon 2 is going to include all of Sky Chariots?

I'd love a Simon Harrison Apex but I guess there's only six of us. Of the ones that might actually sell, I think Belardinelli would be the one for me: imagine some of those Dan Dare spreads or The Battle of Clontarf up close. The other advantage is you could get about 80% of the book from one collector!
