Dredd minis game, latest Joe Abercrombie nonsense and a proper homecare arrangement for my 92yr old aunt who is presently becalmed in an overcrowded hospital ward for no obvious reason.

A week off work.

That's my best present too. I have three weeks off teaching, and all the Christmas window painting is done.  Any actual gifts will be a bonus

Think Santa brought that one early,  or at least a room in a rehabilitation unit which is the first step to getting back to her own house. Selfishly, no more evenings spent in a hospital crammed with elderly people on trolleys on corridors, and shattered-looking nurses rushing from one to the other!

Glad to hear it!

Wow.  That is absolutely stunning. You wouldn't mind PM-ing me an idea of the cost?  I'd love to ask Ian for a Firefly, or even a Ham.

Wow! Love it.

You know, if I was Dan Dare in the Grant Morrison story, I'd nearly be happy to be... never mind.

Having had the good fortune to meet Ian (twice!) and get his book off him, I can confirm his 'sketches' are amazing, and he has various price points, to use a crappy work phrase.

I have asked for a complete year of Valiant from 1967 and Lion from 1971, I believe Santy/Mary (ie me) has already deposited them under the tree. :)

Ian's book is here, pricey but brilliant https://www.dcthomsonshop.co.uk/the-art-of-ian-kennedy (https://www.dcthomsonshop.co.uk/the-art-of-ian-kennedy)

I asked Santa for a fully painted page of Ron Smith Dredd, but Santa allowed me to be outbid in the last ten seconds.  :(

So I said 'Sod you then Santa, I'm going to treat myself to the Black Series Red 5 helmet with £30 off on Amazon currently.'

Without conspiring or colluding, my family kitted me out head to toe in thermals: ace hat from my son, undershirt and leggings from the in-laws and gloves and ski socks from my brother and S-i-L. Well chuffed, if not chapped. Although possibly a hint that I moan about the weather too much.
