Prog / Prog 2027 - Lawman of Steel
15 April, 2017, 01:29:29 PM
Nice cover: could see that used in the Hatchette series

Nerve Centre: Is that Trapper Hag? Poor Roxilla bites the dust finally.

Dredd: well that's not going to end well, Loving story and art.

Defoe: The Happy Shrapnel  droid is knocking it out the park, Defoe coming across as Dredd rather than a Leveller.

Brink really growing on me, intrigued.

Scarlet Traces charging along at a cracking pace, great stuff, lube all round.

Cursed: just not for me the art or the story.

Letters half page and what looks like great craik in NornIron/sixcount'ems.

Top proggage!

So the New Avengers movie is filming in The Old Toon and Waverley, weeks of chaos for us good Edinburghers but I'm sure it will be worth it  :D

Some mega cranes, green screens, drones and platforms of various kinds all over the shop, all this just so Scarlet can still stalk me  ::)

TMO's latest Thrillmail has an advert for a subs handling Droid, does that mean the wonderful Denise has been fed to Mek-quake?

We need to know FFS!

Prog / Prog 1989 - Descent into chaos
09 July, 2016, 10:37:22 AM
COVER: eye ctching chin -est shot.

Nerve centre: SDCC gets a plug and the droids have a BBQ when they should be working 24/7, what is TMO thinking...

Dredd: the best Dredd I've read for a long time, couple of classic Dredd YES! moments, ye naysayer eat my official Justice dept shorts! These two droids should be hailed as bestest team since Mr W and the squirrel!
BLINK and I've missed it

Shaggy Dug: its all getting a bit silly,

Futureshock: Meat. Enjoyable romp, had a moment when I thought it was a
young SD!
apt that there is a FS in the Prog this week too RIP.

Scarlet Traces: this is a great setup episode, with Harold Wilson and the UK justice dept badge making an appearance, great stuff a lesson on how to do info dumps without being a boring t**t.
And a Buttman free letters page!

Thrills of the future: The Grennie and PJ droids join forces for Hunted.
Apparently TMO has upset FB lynchmobs... you go Green bounce!

Dredd: Rico, Joyce and Dredd back in the Meg those cowboys better put their wagons in a circle.
Top hole stuff and more from this team please Mighty One!

Brink: has unfortunately not grabbed me, it should: thought great team and involved but sorry for skipping it.

Prog / Big Year!
24 March, 2016, 04:58:08 PM
Thargy baby, can we have some themed covers for the Prog  'years' ahead?
Something similar to the magazine Cal-hab question issue?

You know the kinda thing, Big punk graphics on Prog 1976 and 1977, 1984 big brother etc

Come thargy you can do it... and might get you some media interest  :D

It's on Film4 at 11.25pm on 6th April, not Channel Four.

Events / Edinburgh Comic Con 2-3 April 2016
18 March, 2016, 04:37:37 PM
sooo... "another chance to see" Gordon, Emma and John McShane talk about 2000ad at the unbelievable time of 10.30 AM!

http://www.heroconventions.com/

I've been cajoled into nipping along to this Con at some point ;) and possibly the Blind Poet after as the 'Cosplay karaoke' was one of the few genuine LOL of the previous 12 months.

Anyone else game for a laugh?

Books & Comics / Dark Horse Sherlock Holmes
16 February, 2016, 11:20:56 AM
Picked up this and enjoyed it, touches of Atkinson Grimshaw on the cover pulled me in and some excellent Euro-style/BD artwork and storytelling inside ticked all my boxes:

Have picked up the other two in the series cheaply at the Book Depository and looking forward to em.

Prog / Prog 1954 Kingslayer!
24 October, 2015, 01:31:08 PM
Fine cover:

Nerve Centre: TotF: Geeks are coming back!
Damage report: telling it like it is: Millertime!

Dredd: wrapped up nice and quick, with PSU down and the whole Day of Chaos fallout I'm glad Records are keeping on top of things. Great work by Colin and Chris .

Defoe: more madness and mayhem

Brass Sun: Who is that Mordred chappie again?

SinDex: the promise that this is the end of Moses has got me interested, and Rich's pleading  ;)

Bad Company: enjoying the artwork but champing at the bit for the resolution

Seven out of ten
