Unfortunately there are a lot of stereotypes in ads, if you've only got a couple o second the establish recognisable car-actors, tell a story and sell a product and have a punchline, you have to go for visual shorthand.

If your not in the target audience, you  won't like it / get it or buy it... look at those crap ad for Essential technogaragehutIbiza Vol II but if you are you should love it or hate it depending on how your to be manipulated ;)

and when I do have to watch 'em I use the mute button, which makes them so much better, you can even play the 'what the feck is that advert for?' game, which is nice
