If you think tapes are small, you should check out the iPod. It's smaller than a pack of ciggies and weighs just as little, yet you can fit thousands of tracks on to even the smallest model. The iPod rocks.

DIGITAL COMPACT CASSETTE was a tape but like a video tape, with a cover over and a microchip inside that could rewind it back to any point u liked, etc

it was made by PHILLIPS/JVC who created the CD with SONY as well, at the same time as SONY made MINIDISC which was vastly inferior and more expensive (but sony had more music talent signed up, via columbia tristar and epic, etc - so that succeeded)

the DCC was supposed to be fully compatible with cassettes and as such i would to track down some information, but other than an episode on tomorrows world (which i watched at the time) - i havent really found much
