So, which one is it?

Still the Titan Books one or...?

Titan for best repro. Hatchette for director's cut art revisions.

Didn't realise the Hachette edition had changed anything - anything more than uncensoring Biz artwork (I'm taking a guess there)?

SMS tweaked a number of his pages, redrawing bits he wasn't happy with.

I remember the Titan editions had FOAD on Pineapples' rifles and shoe with the severed foot with shattered bone still in it, but is there anything more significant in Hatchette?

Robin

Cheers, chaps.

Will track the Titan books down asap.

Not to mention I think all his pages were rescanned from the original art, so there's been a lot of detail restored.

I would suggest the titan books 3 & 4 for the covers.

I have my additions since the first printing and they are still beautiful.

karlos

Could not agree more, James!

Gorgeous stuff!

So, was the reproduction very bad in the Mek Files vol 1?

Rogue Judge

I have Mek Files #1 and am overall happy with it. The repro on the SMS pages is lacking, but Bisley looks good, IMO.

Woolly

The hachette volume is great for SMS's work, not so great for Bisley's. IMO, of course.

If I had picked up on the SMS tinkering I would have got those - Volumes 23 and 24? Anyone provide a side by side example of the kind of changes?

The FOAD bit was in the prog itself. I think there was an actual F-word graffitied elsewhere that was censored in the comic but not the first reprint, though I've never seen the uncensored one.

Speaking of the covers - did I read somewhere that the cover to the Titan Book III actually pre-dates Biz's work on the ABC Warriors?  Pat Mills saw that picture wot Simon had done and wrote the Black Hole off of that (or at least bunged in Craig and Terri's son)?

The artist himself at the time noted some bits and bobs on Facebook:
