Classifieds / Comics and Collectables for sale!
06 November, 2013, 06:05:45 PM
Hello! Okay, so I need some space, and have a lot of stuff to get rid of, be it statues, comics, or... whatever! A lot of this I'm getting rid of for below what seems to be the going rate, and before I put it on eBay I thought I'd give all of you a look in first! Here goes:

DC UNIVERSE ONLINE GREEN LANTERN STATUE: £50 (Like new, with (opened) box, been on display for just under a year.
BLACKEST NIGHT GREEN LANTERN COLOUR SPECTRUM RING SET (the light up ones not the promotional give away ones): £50 (again, like new, in box, inexplicably expensive everywhere, about £100 on amazon)
SPAWN COMPENDIUM: £20 (New TPB, collects issues 1-50 of Spawn)
CLASSIC JOHN BYRNE'S NEXT MEN: £10 (New TPB, collects Next Men issues 0-6)
GEOFF JOHNS' THE FLASH OMNIBUS VOL.1: £20 (new HC collecting the start of Johns' run on the flash from issues 164-167, plus THE FLASH: OUR WORLDS AT WAR #1, THE FLASH: IRON HEIGHTS and THE FLASH SECRET FILES #3)

There will be more to come. If you're interested in anything please PM me, some of the prices are negotiable (i.e Green Lantern ring set) and in terms of P&P, for the smaller books it will be free, and for other larger items it will vary, but shouldn't go above £5. Transactions can be handled in whatever way is best for you, though preferably it will be done through Paypal.

Many thanks,

Will

Games / Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
19 August, 2013, 07:01:05 PM
Okay so I'm considering buying this, I played the first level round my friends and it is one of the creepiest things I have played! All I was doing was sneaking down a hall way, but the atmosphere was great, and the one guard you have to avoid is wonderfully creepy. To those that have played, what's the rest of it like, is it recommended? Sorry if this is already a thread.

Books & Comics / The Spirit
20 May, 2013, 07:22:25 PM
I'm about to dig out the Spirit stories that I have upstairs (I'm talking about the original Will Eisner 7 page strips, not the New Adventures or the Darwyn Cooke stuff, as good as it is) and I was wondering, what are your favourite Spirit strips? I haven't gone through what I have for a while, but I remember a story called 'Fox at Bay' being one of my favourites; it's about a lone gun man in an apartment building, The Spirit has to go up and stop him, and, if I remember correctly, he ends up severely injured from the waist down, as seems to happen a lot to the Spirit!

Books & Comics / Tour of Duty vol. 2 help
10 February, 2013, 11:20:00 AM
Hope this is the right place to post this (I think some one may have posted it before, but I looked and couldn't find it) but why is Tour of Duty Mega-City justice so expensive everywhere?! I'm guessing it's out of print, but it went out of print quite quickly, and now I can't find it for a reasonable price. Hoping I'll happen across it in Waterstones or my LCS one day. Any word on when this will be re-printed?

Thanks, Will

General / Has there ever been a story...
28 August, 2012, 10:25:52 PM
...Where they go back and explain what exactly happened to the regular police? I was reading an interview with John Wagner in the latest issue of Starburst and he said he regretted not doing more with them. Between the time he left the strip and the time he returned, they had pretty much disappeared! If they haven't visited this idea it could be cool for an issue of Zarjaz or something.
Sorry if something like this has already been posted recently!

General / America
28 August, 2012, 09:43:04 PM
Been on the board for ages, still not sure where to put stuff like this! Sorry if this already exists!
I wanted to re-read America, thinking I had it on my book shelf, but I don't. I guess I must have read it in the Meg when I got a tonne of back issues; but long story short I wanted to buy the trade and upon looking on amazon realised it was being sold for £40. I'm guessing this is because it's out of print. Are there any plans to re-print it?
Again sorry if this has already been discussed?

Off Topic / The Power Cosmic!
11 April, 2012, 05:48:35 PM
Hello, my friend and I have decided to create a comics podcast called The Power Cosmic! We are two episodes in, and we're still finding our feet, but it seems we have quite a few people listening so far! It would be great if you could check it out and give some feedback! In the first episode one of the mics has a lot of background noise but by the second that is sorted out!

Film & TV / The Spirit T.V Movie
08 March, 2012, 05:04:20 PM
I was one of the many who were disappointed by Frank Millers "The Spirit" film, but I'm not here to talk about that. I have just found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDzzxnTN75U&list=PLCA9887841FA80D8F&index=1&feature=plpp_video
Which is an 80's T.V movie about "The Spirit" starring Sam Jones (Flash Gordon). Haven't watched all of it yet but I though I'd post it up, enjoy :)

Cheers, Will

Off Topic / Comic podcasts?
18 October, 2011, 05:16:28 PM
I'm considering doing some Comic related pod casts with my mates, probably starting with coverage of London MCM, and I was just wondering. Do any of you do them? Can you recommend any that already exist? (these can be free ones from iTunes). My favourite is Comic Geek Speak who normally do daily casts but they've been at New York Comic-con so they've been broken up a bit, the latest one is general comic talk with their thoughts on Doctor who season 6, and before that are there wrap ups for each week of the  new 52. They are free for download on iTunes, and you can listen and I think you can download them on here: http://www.comicgeekspeak.com/
I do believe our very own FlintLockjaw is on their forums, as am I (willtwoth) although I think I'm still being 'validated' as their mods have been at NYCC.
Anyways, like I said, listen to any others? Any one want to help with mine?

Classifieds / Rocket bear mugs
11 September, 2011, 04:40:51 PM
Hello there,
I understand this may seem a bit... well, weird, and arrogant that I made my own thread for this but I didnt know where else to put it. Basically my friend asked me to print this picture I'd done so I did so through deviant art. You can buy a mug or a matte print... or neither! :)

Ill probably put more things up at some point but for now, enjoy... or don't, whatever you preference is!
Many thanks, Will!

Books & Comics / Mechanismo question
25 February, 2011, 05:07:00 PM
This has been asked a million times, but, does the book mechanismo (the most recently published version) contain everything to do with the mechanismo stories other than wilderlands? If so where can I get wilderlands? Are there any plans to reprint wilderlands?
Many thanks, will.

Games / ABC Warriors game...
23 January, 2011, 03:05:12 PM
What would you like to see in an ABC Warriors game?
For me, it would be a squad based shooter, probably third person, with a good story.

Film & TV / Dan Dare! Rogue Trooper!
23 January, 2011, 02:22:44 PM
Now that I have your attention, Dan Dare! Rogue Trooper! Ok, after speaking to someone in the know I heard that Dan dare has been green lit! Well, if I remember correctly it has, or there was a huge possibility of it being green lit. I think it has been green lit. Anyway, if the current plans for the movie go ahead, Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of The Titians, Terminator: Salvation) is going to be involved. In fact, again, if I remember correctly, one of the main reasons it might be going ahead is because he said he has been a fan for ages and would be up for doing a movie of it!
Rogue Trooper has apparently been OPTIONED for a movie also, and if the Dredd film is a success, then maybe it will see the light of day!
Discuss.

Help! / Class of '79?
14 January, 2011, 04:18:03 PM
I got to the board a little after this whole 'class of '79' thing. It was mentioned a bit but I didn't really know what it was. I've gathered it is/was* a fanzine and it had something to do with Logan. I know there was a yahoo group, and I looked at the page, it said there has been one message sent in January 2011 so far, so is this thing, whatever it is, still going?
Many thanks, Will.

*I say was as there hasn't been much mention of it, and I know W.R Logan was a part of it, and he announced he was leaving the board.

Games / Tron Evolution
13 January, 2011, 05:13:47 PM
It's... good. It's not brilliant. I'm enjoying it.
Graphics: Pretty good
Gameplay: Pretty good, plays a bit like a neon Prince of Persia, but repetetive. Oh and they have lightcycles and light tanks Which are very fun.
Story: Pretty good, it's a prequel to Legacy, which bridges the gap, and shows what happens to Tron, Clu, and the ISO's. You play as a pretty nifty security program, a lot better than Norton.
Voice acting: Good.
Multiplayer: Pretty good and very fun. Haven't played it enough yet to know if I'll get board quickly, there are some DLC's out, some of which come with the game, so hopefully I won't get board. I like it because it feels like you're part of the tron games, there are some maps where you can only have I.D disc battles, which can contain up to 10 people I think, which are very fun, and then maps where you can go both on foot and in tanks and... on light cycles! It's very satisfying when you're driving along, leaving a light ribbon, then the screen tells you 'you've derezzed so and so...'.
All in all, it's not particularly epic gaming, but it is fun.
