Classifieds / Auctions for progs 1 - 200 - g...
Last post by inkymonkey - Today at 03:01:08 AM
Hey all, hope everyone's doing well!

Finally got time to start listing the beloved 2000AD collection - against my better judgement - and have the first 200 progs up for auction on EvilBay.

I'll list them below, but just wanted to say - if anyone here is keen on them and wants to grab one (or more) of the listed lots, I'm quite happy to pull them off sale and sort something out through here. It'll save on postage! Feel free to PM me.

+++++++++++++

There's still many more to come - I've got pretty much every prog from 201 to the current day to go up, including every free gift, rarity and variant, and many of them with the original flyers.

Just watched Sisu
During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Germans on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Germans steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word "sisu", this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Germans throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back - even if it means killing every last German in his path.

Excellent WW2 Story although a tad gory at times. Got some serious Taratino vibes from this, if I didn't know otherwise I would've thought it was one of his.

I like the idea of ending on a deliberate high note, but it is a cool universe.

I never heard anything about actors images being a problem with Doomlord.
Why I didn't do the photo strips at that time was that they were too difficult to reproduce properly. That was nearly 20 years ago(!!) and technology has moved on and would now reproduce reasonably well. I did try a subsequent collection but it didn't happen.
Dan Dare, from what I understand, John and Pat own the rights to the Return of the Mekon story. It is a pity that its not reprinted, it has some of the finest art, and the story's not too shabby either!

Yeah, the old 'it was better in my day'. No it was just different. The humour comics form the forties were vastly different to the sixties, etc etc. Still, while my youngest has left the Beano and Monster Fun behind ( he did get the Phoenix, but never loved it) he is now coming home with a manga from Eason's every other week.

Disappointing but only because it's so good. I thought this would run and run. Such fantastic worldbuilding. Oh well. :(

Oh my Prog review from the weekend isn't here... I wonder what happened there and how I managed not to post it??? Anyway I think I said Dredd was a solid set up, Aquila had a bit of a damp ending compared to the rest but is setting up the next bit I guess. Intestinauts looks amazing and brings a nice balance to the Prog, Brink is AMAZING, Proteus Vex is AMAZING...
