Trooper McFad can I be cheeky and share 2nd - what I have is neither 2000ad or X-Mas but I will make clear when I post why its very fitting - in the YNWA Household anyway for the calendar. So am I okay to share the slot?

You certainly can ti's the season to share  😀

(You can have it all yourself if you want and I'll take the 3rd ?)

.

Thank you but since mine is an utter indulgence best to have something proper to lead the day!

As I said on the other thread both of the match-ups today are really defying my expectations by being pretty close which I wasn't expecting and I adore that and the diverse options we have here. Keep on keepin' on you fine folks!

Wow both todays ties are turning into much closer battles than I was expecting. That's why I love this tourney, its defining my expectations and showing what a gloriously diverse bunch we are!

Footballer Ray Kennedy has died.

Ray Kennedy was an under-rated genius on the field. He's sadly been fighting dementure for years now and will be remembered for his bravely both on and off the pitch.

HA! and typically not long after I type we get a late bumper delievery of ALL SORTS of stuff (including some lovely comics and artzines from the latest Chris Askham Kickstrter) and amongst all that... yep you guessed it - two Progs, 2260 and the late 2258 (just after I contact support typical!) and so now cliche's of having to avoid thrillpower overload abound... mind don't have time to read them tonight for one reason or another!

The ancients gods arrive!

I kinda expected more from Cthulhu and co than them arriving after years of interdimensional hibernation and it turns out all they really wanted was a holiday by the sea in Margate!

I've only had 2259, still missing 2258 - but have contacted about that one and this weeks hasn't shown up yet, though that i smost likely to do with the snow as anything.

Getting other mail though so fingers crossed that gets sorted Pyroxian.

Week 6 and, brace yourself, we get over the half way marker in Round 1… yes when I said this was the biggest of these things yet I wasn’t messing about! We’re not even half way… in Round 1… and Round 2 is bigger than Round 1 before you get your hopes up… we’re in for the long haul here folks!

Great example of why this tourney is so interesting. These thrills feel at opposite ends of the thrill spectrum to me, in terms of tone at least. One very dour and earnest, the other while dark madcap and chaotic. All that matters of course - aside from your pony - is...

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.

Match ends early on the morning of Friday 3rd December and the winner gets a place in Round 2 (of 9!!!).

What on Earth is ALL of this?

For those that need ‘um and can be bothered to follow ‘um there’s some simple rules

Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN!

Shall we have a sweepstake on how long it takes before someone makes a joke about Trash being the most aptly named series in the comics rich history?... does that count as making a joke about Trash being the most aptly named strip in the comic’s rich history??? Mind look at that Art! The art was so lush. Big fan of Second City Blues as well - flying skateboard horse men and all and it too had great art so…

Jaysus Colin, you're churning these out!

Well we've got a chuff load to get through.

2 a days, 4 days a week. Like badly typed clockwork.

Looooookk we discussed this a couple of times - I know Metalzoic is a fudge. I KNOW it shouldn’t be here based on my own rules of entry BUT just about everyone who discussed it agreed exceptions need to be made for this most 2000ad of none qualifying thrills… oh and Harry Kipling something something...

Tricky one to compare this as they are clearly such different things BUT that’s not stopped us before and won’t stop us now right… one day I might run an utterly random Tourney with ties like Tom Frame’s lettering vs The cover of Prog 451… sorry I’m getting distracted...
