Great to see your process there Alex, you're truly the god of lighting! :)

Nigel Dobbyn, of this here parish, posted a cracking Hellboy pic on FB earlier today, and within seconds I was bugging the poor chap asking if he'd mind if I coloured it:

That HELLBOY is brill  :)

This is the last thing I've done before I try to use some of Alex's advice and tips, just checking out that PS file I can see how to improve it,especially that 3 point light technique, unfortunately but I've been too busy at work to try it out yet,on it though...anyway,badly lit Dredd coming up.

Yeah there's a tad too much green on that - and the shadows on Dredd are a little severe. I'd also avoid using such large texture brushes on the background there. Some of the more subtle shadows on the background blocks are good though - ! I've always been very nervous about coloured lighting so you've put a brave foot forward there - continue experimenting!

Danbo

Cheers,still learning  :)

As for the texture brushes,I was trying to do clouds but  :-[

I'm doing some work on a web comic and as it's on the web I guess it's ok for me to post it.

I thought I would have a go at this colouring lark so here's a low res scan of the first page of Judge Minty I found on the net just to experiment with.

Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.
