A solid collection of stories in The Chief Judge's Man, with the exception of Psycho Block - not sure that did much for me. Highlights of the volume were the Dredd-Edgar scenes, and contrasting Manners with Klee and Jackson - judges can go off the rails for reasons of love or hate.

There's only one drawback to stories being published out of order - having to read the whole collection again when it's complete ;-)

Btw,was Plagues of Necropolis collected in Mega Collection?

Plagues hasn't appeared as yet, but as all remaining content isn't yet known, I guess it still could appear in either the initial run of 80 or the much-discussed extension.

If there is an extension, when is this likely to be announced? Anyone got experience of this type of thing from the Marvel run?

Does anyone know whether this collection will include Titan/Enceladus?  Thinking of buying the TPB but won't if it'll be one of the volumes in the collection.

Titan and its sequels won't be in the Mega Collection.

Titan is included in one of the Low Life volumes. Will Enceladus be included?

I personally hope not as I bought the TPB then Titan appeared! However Enceladus would sit well in the collection if it's extended, along with Dark Justice.

I found Cursed Earth Carnage to be a mixed bag. Really enjoyed Helltrekkers, Wagner and Grant having fun in the sandpit outside the city, with no established characters to worry about. Citi-Def and Sleeze & Ryder then run with the same basic theme, but take it too over the top and end up falling flat. The best thing I can say about either is that I enjoyed some of the artwork.

And to those of you in attendance this weekend, have a fantastic time. I shall be there with you in spirit.

RIP John Hurt, what a great actor. Would have loved to have seen more of his War Doctor, he was great at putting the other two in their place. So many memorable performances.

It was asked on the Facebook page whether Pirates of the Black Atlantic would be included, and the answer was negative. A real shame as it's such a pivotal story.

Taking solace that there's more Ron to come in The Judge Child, City of the Damned, and presumably the Mean Machine volume will include Dredd Angel.

By my reckoning there are still 6 unknown issues, so maybe there'll be some in those too.

Anyone have a full listing for the Heavy Metal Dredd volume?
I'm interested to know if both versions of 'Joe Dredd's Blues' are included.

Listed against issue 53 here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judge_Dredd:_The_Mega_Collection

Neither Joe Dredd's Blues appears though.

Heavy Metal Dredd doesn't include the most essential stories in the collection, but there's plenty of fun to be had. Interesting to note the variety in Simon Bisley's style, from some very detailed panels to seemingly quick episodes done on a wet afternoon. Contributions from Brendan McCarthy and the late John Hicklenton play to their strengths, and great to see some more Ron Smith stories - still hoping that Pirates of the Black Atlantic and The Graveyard Shift will feature in the series.

The Hachette page is now showing the cover of issue 55, The Chief Judge's Man. Cover is by Jock (I think) and credited are John Wagner, Will Simpson, Colin MacNeil, John Burns, and three more names I can't quite make out, think one is Colin Wilson.

By my reckoning all the Armon Gill stories will make up about half the page count, are there any related stories to complete the volume?

This also suggests some changes have been made to the running order, judging by the Wikipedia article collecting bits of information about the future of the series. For example, that has Mega-City Justice as #71 (27 September).

My error, issue 58 is Tour of Duty: Mutants in MC1, and issue 71 wraps up the ToD trilogy with Mega City Justice.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but when is Helltrekkers released? I can't see it on the wiki or on the forthcoming releases list above.

Helltrekkers is included in Cursed Earth Carnage, released on 1st February. I only have vague memories of this from first time round, so looking forward to reading it again given differing opinions being voiced on here.

I remember reading the Sean Philips Armitage in a Megazine floppy and being blown away. I'm always amazed by people knocking this series when it's included all the epics. For those interested Hachette replaced my copy of the Day the Law Died with a fixed copy. How do folks find out what's up next - has Armitage been officially announced?

Future issue info has been mostly pieced together from info given on the Facebook page I think. The Wikipedia page is comprehensive in listing everything known up to now. Still don't know what issue 55 will be though.

For me, the MC represents great value as it got me back into Tooth after many grexnix years and I'm catching up on a load of stuff I missed. Plus they look great on the shelf.

Banzai Battalion is a case in point - I had read Beyond the Wall and its sequel before, but none of the other stories, so had great fun doing so. All the BB art is great in capturing the humour and scale of the robots, I think Ian Gibson just edges it for me.

Down on Sausage Tree Farm initially seemed a bit throwaway, but is this story the start of Dredd's empathising with mutants leading to Origins, Tour of Duty etc?

What a godsend that sale was for a cherrypicker like me!

Just bought 7 200-page hardbacks for £35! My plan now is to ration them gradually out to myself... we'll see how far I get with that!  ;)

So what were your seven Issues? Classics or previously missed curiosities? I'm intrigued!

Banzai Battalion contains:

Beyond the Wall
A Magic Place
Banzai Battalion
No Man's Land
BB - The Fitz
BB - Save the Fitz
BB - Robot Wars
Everything in the Garden
A Walk in the Park
Down on Sausage Tree Farm

I also note that the Facebook page has changed from previewing issues to showing those now on sale, which means we don't yet know what issue 55 will be. My money's on it being The Hunting Party, as all other mega-epic issue numbers are known, and while next issue is Heavy Metal Dredd, it's not quite proper canon, and issues 54 and 56 are Dredd-lite, if he indeed appears at all. We shall see.

I'm intrigued to know what's included in the Banzai Battalion volume as I think the actual BB stories add up to about 120 pages.
