Time Twisters. Because, frankly, any excuse to vote against Rogue Trooper I will take.

Kingdom, which effortlessly created a character and world to rank among the true classics of 2000AD.

Proteus Vex has done nearly enough to join that pantheon... but needs a little more. I feel absolutely sure it will get there very soon.

My favourite Slaine 'story arc' is The Books of Invasion. It may well be my favourite thing ever to appear in the prog- the combination of Mills script and Langley's beautiful, utterly awesome artwork is for me Peak Slaine.

But if we are allowed to have two votes, I'd say Sky Chariots is very close behind.

I loved Insurrection on my last reread, and Mr Abnett is my all-time favourite script droid. But Future Shocks wins this because of all the pure insanity over the decades. And because reading the first two collected editions was sheer joy. Where is 3?

Hookjaw FTW! Why we have not had any more is beyond me.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Took my kids to this last night, and loved it. Not least for the performances of Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Kuan, who are both magnificent throughout (and Yeoh may possibly be the most beautiful woman in cinema).

It may have been a tad overlong, and the pacing may have faltered a bit towards the end, but it was truly wonderful.

But I'm also damn sure I never want to see it again. Odd that.

I'm going to say Prog 2282, simply because I like to think of the comic as an ongoing concern that I enjoy each week with the same shiver of thrillpower as I have done since I was six. That is tempered by the fact that I haven't been overly impressed with much this year so far, and thus this week's having a five for five hit rate immediately puts it in the top tier and served to show me that no, I'm not just going off it. When it does a prog like this week's, it's the best thing on the stands.

Low Life because it was a genuine opening up of the Dredd Mythos, introduced a load of new characters and looked beautiful.

I don't really remember a great deal about The Bendatti Vendetta other than I quite liked it.

Oh grud, what a choice. My all-time worst 2000AD strip versus one from the bottom tier.

Strontium Dogs. Because it isn't Counterfeit Girl.

Books & Comics / Re: Shift Comic - new UK anthology

^^^What Tomwe said. I went into town yesterday expecting just the prog and the Meg, and found also Shift, Croix-Noir #1 and the new Fortean Times. Result. If an expensive one.

I left Shift for last, largely because I hadn't enjoyed the previous issue as much as I had in the past and was concerned the lustre was coming off. Shouldn't have been such a namby pamby. Not a wasted page, and everything was hugely enjoyable- notably Elephantmen (which I'd only read in that Strontium Dog crossover drawn by Boo Cook) and To The Death. Great to see Pat promoting Requiem and Claudia again- I have all the Panini volumes and love them, but we have been waiting too long for no. 6 and I hope we get a chance, through Shift, for an opportunity to read Claudia at last.

Shift is still probably the best UK comic on the market that isn't 2000AD or the Meg (when Lawless is running).

I've never understood the swooning over Zenith, but I've made my feelings clear before. Button Man gets this vote.

Leviathan.

Yes, Necronauts. Short, sweet and to the point.

The Dead.

But for me, a matter of the "least worst" I'm afraid.

Harlem Heroes. A series featuring an all black main cast, in the first issue of a weekly boys adventure comic of the seventies? We should have realised from the off that 2000AD was going to be something special. Oh, hang on, we did. And, of course, who of us wasn't terrified by Artie Gruber?
