Lesson:  don't try to out-do Tom Baker.  Or dress people like clowns.

I guess in my head it was pretty much like KITT from Knight Rider.

Can the Megazine do no wrong?  Another blinding issue this "month", and that's without taking the articles and text story into account.

There were several laugh out moments (especially in Dredd and Simping), but the real killer was Jack Point's "t-those're for me?"

Tension ramping up in Anderson, Devlin and Bendatti.

The best Middenface story ever.

Charley's War very relevant and thankfully published as scheduled.

There was the Doggy Carrots thread:  that was a lark.

Prog / Re: Prog 1449: Deadlier Than The M...

Summary:  the decks are cleared, which hasn't happened in an awfully long time.  My thrill receptors are shaking with antici...pation.

In order, grexnix to ghafflebette:

5: Future Shorts
Throwaway fluff.  Incredibly silly.

4: Sinister Dexter
Moses - was that the dude that killed Demi eons ago?  Lovely art.  I get the feeling that if this story had turned up, say, 2 years ago, it would have been relevant.  Maybe we need a larger 2000AD so that we don't have to wait for so long for stories to tell themselves - or another spin-off publication.  Note:  I know nothing about the costs & editorial nightmares involved in such a scheme.

3: Atavar
That's it then, the end?  Please?  I mean, they go in there together and they kill the galactic cancer and that's it, right?  No need to come back to this?  Lovely art, but wasn't it always?

2: Judge Dredd
10 episodes in and I'm getting used to the art.  Or am I just relieved that it's over?  That exploding building frame is just lovely.

As for the story, a satisfactory conclusion:  Dredd saved by Vienna:  who'd have thunk it way back at episode #1?  Not one of you, eh?

Still no word on Giant or Rico, which means that certain boarders will continue to insist that Giant is having his head sewn back on in a med-bay somewhere.  Rennie is a naughy boy for not clarifying this.

1: Shakara
Okay, so it's just a big fight with that olde "you talk too much" pay-off cliche:  but it's a Flint fight.  SHAKARA!

:: "what exactly was 'he' trying to do going back to the future?"

That's a question with an involved answer, which I'll attempt from memory:

Ages ago (see The Judge Child quest) Judge Feyy, the city's best precog, predicted disaster for MC-1 in the year 2120, a disaster that only the Judge Child could prevent.

However, Judge Dredd found the Judge Child to be evil, eventually sending a warhead to blast him out of existence.

Predictions of disaster continued, however, so Dredd and Anderson were sent into the future (to 2120) in the Proteus (never used before or since) time machine to find out what was going on.

The Judge Child, or some of his cells, had survived the missile blast and grown into a super powerful mutant which had turned the 2120 version of Dredd into a zombie.

Dredd and Anderson managed to escape back to their own time in the Proteus, but the zombie Dredd came along for the ride (with it's hands around 'our' Dredd's throat).  As soon as they left 2120 the zombie 'switched off' and was interred in the Black Museum.

So, it's just trying to get home.

The Dark Knight Returns: Politics.  Retribution.  Anarchy (ie against the state, not against a state).

Watchmen: yeah, intellect.

News / Re: Caballistics, Inc. Fan-site......

Sorry to bump my own post, but I just wanted to reinforce that the Cabs fan-site is incredibly spoilerific.  (There's only a single warning, on the home page.)

If you haven't read the strips before, borrow someone's back progs or get a hold of the two collected editions before looking at the site.

With a new series of Caballistics, Inc. on the way, the http://www.2000ad.org/caballistics/">Cabs fan-site has been given a thorough spring clean.

---

New to the site:
- information from Changelings added for the first time.
- the art section extended to include fan art from boarders Dark Jimbo and bolt-01.

---

Technical guff:
- tested in IE6/7 and Firefox - any oddities from other browsers - please let me know.
- code heavily altered to be more accessible (human/machine) than the last version.  Any suggestions for an improved interface welcome.

---

Request:
- the annotations peter out around the end of Creepshow, so if anyone wants to submit anything, again, feel free.
