:: 'Inimicable, a rarely used tense of inimical, means "can be harmful to or have an adverse effect on,"'

I reckon it's used enough to count as a word.  Here are < href="http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=inimicable&meta=" target="_blank">60,000 examples.

I was more shocked by the previous two episodes - especially Prog 1462 (in which we very nearly see a rape, and see children being beaten and shot).  The episode after that, where the father is forced to play russian roullette with his wife, wasn't as shocking - but only because I've been de-sensitised to graphic representations of russian roullette by that scene from The Deer Hunter being replayed so many times (by the media, not me personally).

Those two episodes turned this story around from what seemed like an enigmatic space opera into something a lot more thought-provoking:  although with hindsight there was is a sort of background noise of flashbacks woven through the build-up episodes that hint (very enigmatically) at what's to come.

This reminds me of that scene in one of Michael Moore's documentaries where a woman kills and guts a rabbit in front of the camera.  Mr Moore recieved tons of complaints about the scene, but no complaints whatsoever about the scene just prior to that one, where a "black suspect" was shot to death in the street by US police.  I'm not having a go at anyone here - I personally was more put out by the bunny getting it's chips than something I'd seen on a hundred cop shows and movies.  Until I was forced to think about it, at least.

Wasn't Demi Octavo murdered either by or on the orders of Moses Tanenbaum?

It made me stop - and then I remembered where I'd seen it before - on a documentary about the Vietnam war (possibly The Fog Of War, but I'm not sure).  It started me thinking about the US dropping clustor bombs on Iraq, where they're often detonated by unwary children.

So, yes, it was distracting in that way.  In the context of Leatherjack, I don't know: the script is trying to make a strong point - and if that image provokes debate and educates people on US military history, well, I can't say that's altogether a bad thing.

The way I read it the car was some kind of bizarre cross between, well, a car and the Starship Enterprise.

The core breach meant that they had to dump the core or go supernova (ish), and it just so happened that the core was shaped like a big metal boomerang, which, when ejected, sliced up the bad guys.

Without the core, the car had no power.

QED?

Unholy Warriors is getting quite a slating - but it's better than a lot of things that have appeared in the prog.

Don't make me say it, though...don't make me say...Dry Run!

Oh - and thanks, Eck:  I knew I'd seen Dredd pull that stunt somewhere before but I just couldn't remember where.

Gunnar and Bagman are playing chess, Bagman with his dispenser-arm, and Gunnar with his telekinetic powers.

Gunnar:  "Fancy a game, Helm?"

Helm:  "Oh, very witty, I'm sure."

Bagman "I'd come over here and headbutt him for that one, Helm."

Helm "Yes, ho ho - very good."

etc.
