The Uncle Devil Show

Greatest Album Evah!

I had a Drink About You is one of the saddest songs I know. It's a bit like Jusin Currie's new stuff, although with more guitar. Not that he has anything to do with The Uncle Devil Show, mind.

And then there's the cheery Gilbert O'Sullivan. I love that. And When Raymond Comes Around

I'm off for a listen now!

May be mine too. How one album can be this funny and tuneful and arch and - as you say - sad, is fantastic. Never tire of it.

Charlie boy

I was looking on Amazon to see if there was anything to buy so I could have the excitement of thinking "I wonder if the postman has been yet!" for a few days when I saw Bloc Party had released a 'new' album (I know the second and third albums aren't up to much but I still really like Silent Alarm) so I ordered it and it arrived recently. Turns out the fourth album is no good so I decided to listen to Where You Been by Dinosaur Junior for the first time in years and it turns out it's still a cracking album.

As are all Dino Jr albums. One of the few of the recent slew of reformed 90s greats who produced good new material too.

When Rory Gallagher died they showed this to honour the man and it's been one of my favourite things since. Enjoy:

Got to add my 'two pence' worth here......Rory Gallagher was one of the finest blues guitarists ever to grace these shores,  and a genuinely decent and humble man as well.... I was fortunate enough to see him live in concert 5 times during the 70's,  and have remained such a fan that when I was ' paid off / compulsory retired',  I splashed out and bought myself a Fender Custom shop replica of his battered 61 Stratocaster......

For a truly wonderful example of his blistering guitar playing,  check out his great album Irish Tour 74.....................
I guarantee you will not be disappointed !! .
Cheers,

tUnE yArDs quote from Busta Rhymes (Leann's uncle), and have made a video which feels as freaky to me as Sesame Street did when Channel Four first started showing it on Sunday mornings.

Gwar - Battle Maximus

I put this on my ipod to listen to at the gym. I have never laughed so much at the gym! If you are feeling down, listen to some Gwar and I promise you will feel better afterwards!
