Yeah, I think that barely covers my own donation to their coffers. It's nice to see avaricious bastards that are at least competent in the execution of their bastardy.

Very limited selection in my local bookshop (I had a voucher) but I managed to get The Founding (and Malleus) - they didn't have the other two.

Thank you, this is perfect.

Someone else recommended Gaunt's Ghosts but I mistakenly thought it was a standalone book; I'll look forward to getting stuck in.

Let us know how you get on!

Thank you Smith - is chronology important?

Can anyone recommend a good introductory book to the Warhammer world?
Ultramarines series/ Uriel Ventris chronicles
Grey Knights
Brothers of the snake
Valdor,birth of Imperium
Word Bearers series
Space Wolf (but only the ones by William King)
Macharian Crusade

All of those (and basically every other WH40k novel series) are standalone. Just start at book 1 of that series.
Also,I discussed it here recently, Gothic War duology doesn't get enough love.

I agree that Caiphas Cain would be better for a series, if only because it could be made slightly lighter and mainstream.

For a movie Storm of Iron would probably be the best for an adaption.

Not for the budget. Eisenhorn on the other hand is basically a detective story in space. You can kinda cheat there.

Good point! Caiphas Cain is basically a greatest-hits tour of the most expensive slavering hordes WH40K has to offer.

We would have to hope for a Game of Thrones level production budget.

It's incredible but I'm happy to just stick with the lore.
