McConville's written lots that I've enjoyed, and I'm sure he'll write plenty more.  But here he's up against one of the true giants of the modern prog.

Ian Edginton has created so many great series in the past two decades that it's bordering on the ridiculous.  I have no choice but to vote for him, even if I fervently wish he'd get on with continuing more than a few of them before his fecundity gets the better of him again. For Scarlet Traces alone he'd beat most names on the seeding list.

A lot of love for Rory McConville in this thread, this writing has made a real impact in recent years and his Dredd ranks amongst the finest of the newer writers on the strip. However when any writer comes up against someone with as bigger and significent body of work as the winner they will have a hard time and so it is that

Ian Edginton

sails into the second round.

Ian easily. One of the most original voices the Mighty One has.

Ian Edginton wins. So many good strips.
