I'm going to Lawless for the first time this year (just the Saturday). Mainly hoping to get some sketches. I've only been to one other Con, NICE in Bedford last year. That was great but queued over 3 hours to get an Alan Davis sketch of the good Captain (not that I regret it of course, well worth it).

But are waits like that normal at Lawless as well ? If I want to get something from say Chris Weston or Pye Parr or Glenn Fabry, do I realistically need to just choose one to make a bee-line for and then wait it out ?? As I say, this will be my second show so don't know what's 'normal' is in terms of waiting times.

It is not that I find Indigo Prime as bad it was always a strip even when John Smith wrote it that it is something that is not really to my liking. The power of anthology at play here anyway, the rest are top-notch.

It's clear that Rebellion isn't publishing an FCBD issue this year.

Free comics are mentioned on the MF facebook page, now they may be unconnected - part of the official FCBD, or some old stock like the 'Fangtastic Preview' they did before launch, but free comics are mentioned on the official Monster Fun page.

I know its a very unpopular opinion but I think I prefer the Kek Indigo tales to John Smiths ones: the level of deliberate obfuscation appeals to me, and the horror levels are dialled back a bit.
I totally get why a lot of people aren't fans though.

Off to have a tooth out later.

This is the culmination of a saga that started back in November when one of my molars literally split in half after being messed up by the adjoining wisdom tooth. The dentist removed that, and in doing so damaged the tooth next to it. When that started hurting I went to the dentist no less than three times and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, so I just had to lump it rather than lose a potentially healthy tooth. Last year I remember taking a bagload of painkillers to Lawless.

I've never been so excited to go to the dentist!

Indigo Prime is an odd one. John Smith gained a reputation for impenetrable stories, but I never really thought that. And the UC collections have their moments of batshit weirdness, but the plots that thread through them are possible to cling on to during even the most bizarre moments. Kek-W seems to often flirt on the other side of that line. I certainly don't begrudge it being in the Prog, but it'd be nice if it had a touch more coherence.
