I like the way they have a dig at Maralyn Manson. You know you've made it as a subculture when you've got factional infighting.

I like how they bring up Marilyn Manson in the first place, just so they can say he's not goth.

And in the Indepenendent article "...The Cure, and Siouxsie and The Banshees had a great influence on the goth look and the music, but they weren't really gotrh either..."

That's really helpful, then. To better help you understand what goth is, here are three things described in some detail that aren't it.
