(In a "aren't they cool and mysterious and quite misunderstood" kind of way, not in a Garth Ennis kind of way)

I gots to know, as the guy in the Dirty Harry movie said. What is a Garth Ennis style lesbian?

Jimbob, SMT was indeed superb. Good taste!

I think it's similar to a 'porn star' lesbian... as opposed to a gothy comics lesbian or indeed a real life lesbian.

And Dirty Harry's on telly tonight. Make my day!

I'm sorry to have missed this thread.

I really like Neil Gaiman's stuff in general, although it can vary in quality.
I enjoyed Sandman a lot.

I'd recommend his novel Anansi Boys, which is similar in many ways to the gods running around in Sandman.

I like some of Gainman's stuff. Some stuff I don't like. Say what you like about Sandman, it's gotten people who look down on comics as a medium to give them a chance thanks to the praise it gets from Literary (big L there) types. Then I point them towards The Filth and step back, giggling.

Mr C

Wait a minute, GAINman?

My Gainman goes up to 11!

MIKE COLLINS

Welllllll....

back, way back in the day, pre-Vertigo, Neil and me both had proposals in for horror series- mine never made it over the final hurdle (as so many don't) but we'd been swapping notes on our ideas- Neil was very excited about his plans for the book... he said 'I've got a WHOLE ISSUE where Sandman and his sister sit on a park bench and talk!' I think I said something like 'Jesus, Neil- no one will buy that!'

Cue: One of the most over-ordered and significant books in modern DC.

I think I may have turned down the option of Apple stock at some point too...

"I wasn't talking about writing."

Well, forgive me for offending your delicate little sensibilities by doing ... err ... whatever it was I did.

(fingers crossed italics work)

I'll have a wild stab in the dark, Jim, but I think it might have been this.

"I'll have a wild stab in the dark, Jim, but I think it might have been this. "

Probably. Whatever. He behaved like a dick and got a slap for it. Boo fucking hoo.

I don't, however, feel that the post you've linked to is an example of the intellectual posturing of which he was accusing me.

That was an example of me being mightily pissed off at having to make a public apology to Mongo, and with some justification, I feel.

"(fingers crossed italics work)"

You were nearly right! It's not square brackets, its less-than and greater-than signs, like in regular HTML.

Cheers!

Damn you and your cold Vulcan logic, Campbell.
