I had a reply from IDW last night after I asked them a few questions a few days ago but since then we have heard most of the answers but here are a few. One was for Buttonman 

I won't bother putting my questions down as I think the answers are quite self explanatory

I don't believe we're planning on a letters column at the moment, but if we do, we'll put the word out.

Sketch covers are a possibility, but none are planned right now.

As far as the variants, I can't quote numbers, but you should be able to work out getting ahold of those with your retailer. At the time of release, or shortly after, we'll have the book in our online store, so you can order directly from us, but you should able to go through your local shop.

I would love a few sketch covers and these would then take me on a new convention mission

Yeah, thats a bit much for the Carlos cover, int it. Especially when that 'Exclusive Logo Cover' variant is supposed to be the mega rare one?

The answer to that is quite simple in its madness.
The shop has to buy 500 issues to get 500 mega rare ones. So that's 500 for 500.
To get the Carlos cover the shop has to buy 25 issue get 1 Carlos cover. So that's 25 for 1.
Only the big stores, online or not will be able to invest in 500 copies.

No stores -- I may have to repeat that for rhetorical porpoises: NO stores -- will have ordered 500 copies. Maybe there are 50 small stores in a major urban area that have ordered 10 each and put it through as one order for 500, but, frankly, I don't believe they even printed the 500 copies incentive cover.

I ordered mine, (no cover image, so maybe Carlos', maybe not...) together with the two issues of Zaucer of Zilk, from Disposable Heroes a week or so back.  Only the news that Brendan McCarthy is doing a 6-page Anderson back-up story made me get off the fence, to be honest.  Still, looking forward to seeing how this shapes up.

I bloody HATE variant cover nonsense, though.
