You tend to get more eloquent messages on the board. In the chat room there tends to be just some gossip, opinions, and occasionally awkward silences.

the board is a great place, i dont get the chance to go to the chat rooms due to time differences etc. but teh board can be real pleasure.
and with the board you can add to a thread and then log back out and do some more work and come back at any time,
so both have there merits, but i find it can be more amusing here on many occasions.
