Wonder what will happen with the Disney /Boom comics deal that has just recently started producing Disney comics?

Announcements / Re: 2000 AD Website Back and Badass!
28 August, 2009, 11:42:16 PM
Well done, web-bots.
At last Tharg has a website he can gloat about again.

For too long I kept hearing about "bugs" in the system. I assume they're a new breed of Thrillsucker, that Tharg as finally learned to control.

Is there still a "Dreddworld" section (for example showing maps of Dredd's world, and listing the CJ's timeline)?

Once again, well done on the new look, glad normal service has been resumed.

General / Re: Dear Tharg - What I want from my 2000AD
16 August, 2009, 04:58:50 PM
There are so many things I could mention, but I'll keep it plain and simple.

The ONLY thing I want right now, is for the 2000ad Online, official website (that Tharg openly advertises in the prog, and invites people to visit), to be up, running, and full of lots of relevant information. Two years getting a (non-broken) webiste, to the state it is currently in is nothing less than shameful.

Failing that, if Tharg's in-house droids can't sort it out, outsource the site once more, and get Indigo Prime and Wake to run the site once more.

I'm surprised Tharg advertises this site in 2000ad, given that it's been broken for so long.
Are you really that proud of it Tharg?

Prog / Re: Prog 1648: Cutting Crew!

QuoteWhich is why I'd like to see another one as that's easily the best looking of the revived Stront stories.

Agreed Cosh. (there has only been the one)

Prog / Re: Prog 1650 - new Dredd Mega Epic!
09 August, 2009, 07:16:39 PM
I've always thought that PSI-Div was too much of an easy "get-out" for plot lines. BUT I do love the character of Anderson.

SO, I would like to see a Mega-Epic (not Prog 1650) where there is a PSI-wars, that effectively wipes out all of Psi-Div, leaving only Anderson. I think that would give the empath a little more to think about, and make her character fairly interesting. (I'd also like to see her as a regular in the Megazine, replacing the film reviews)

I'd like a maniacal tyrant to take control of Psi-Div, leaving the rest of the Justice Dept no option, but to destroy Psi-Div.

Re: Prog 1650, and CJ Francisco, I wouldnt be surprised if he does "turn bad" that Mayor Ambrose is behind it.
I'd be surprised if Dredd instated Mutants as Judges, (in one of the theories above in NW Hab) with Heshey as CJ. IIRC when Dredd and Hershey first worked together, Dredd had a problem with a Judge having a moustache, so seeing a mutant in uniform would be more than even his pro-mutie feelings could go.

I don't find it surprising that they've been able to keep the details of the story off the web. But I do find it odd that they aren't plugging it to sell more copies. Was anything made of it at SDCC?

QuoteI find it puzzling that Tharg seems to settle on a strip being either colour or monochrome rather than deciding that on a story by story basis. I'd love a new B&W Stront story.

Strontium Dog of course being one of the few strips, where Tharg actually has used both colour, and blank and white.

See the new SD: Traitor To His Kind tpb collection for case in point.  :)

Dredd: Great stuff, and winner of the quote of the week for me, with "Drokk! Incomming Eldster!".

Red Seas: I'm enjoying this, as always.

Sinister Dexter: Enjoying this too.

Defoe: No idea what's going on half the time. Can't decide if that's the script or the artwork at fault. (Although I actually like the artwork, I'm just not sure I can decipher what is going on) I also think that as the theme in this and Red Seas seem (to me) to be very similar, I don't understand why Tharg choose to run both stories parallel to each other.

RPG ad: Still not properly available for preorder on Amazon.

Letters: I think printing the negative review show that Tharg has balls. However I couldn't agree any less with the comments in said letter if I was paid to do so.

Future lineup: Looks great, BUT Why is Paul Marshall on Dante? Nothing wrong with his art, but Dante art duties "belong" to Fraser and Burns.

2000ad knocking the pants of the Meg (and will continue to do so as long as the Meg prints film reviews)

Off Topic / Re: Fantasy Football - Private League

I've run a FF league based on the Yahoo rules every year for the past 10 (?) years now.

This is the first year that I've contemplated NOT running one, as real life is taking over- however if someone else starts a Yahoo one up, I'll be in.

Prog / Re: PROG 1646 - Off With Their Heads!
31 July, 2009, 09:30:05 PM
I thought there were 3 or 4 good "Quotes of the Week" this week, but for me, I think this one from Isaac Newton (Red Seas) wins.

"I'll thank you to cease your prodding! I am NOT some underdone bun!"

For me, the Prog is still currently better than the Meg.

QuoteYep, IE only. Looks like a failure to clear floats right at the end. I'll have a poke around.
Edit: Nope, stray form element not being closed. Fixed.

Sorry Vincebot, but it isn't fixed on the various boards (which lists thread titles i.e.: Message Board, View Active Topics, View Unread Posts, and View New Replis to your posts)
The page numbers and the mark all topics as read are still on "invisible" backgrounds, so the text disappears behind Ukko and Tor Cyan's legs.
#27
The footer of the page is transparent. This makes some of the text and drop downs hard to read/locate, as it so clashes with Tor Cyan's legs, and Ukko.

Can we have a black footer, that is the width of the message board please? (on my screen, it's from Red to Slaine).

Using IE.

View unread posts doesn't work for me.
I haven't been online since yesterday, and click View unread posts to see what new posts have been made since I was last online- nothing apparently.
I'm using Windows XP, and viewing in IE7.

Or am I missing the point of the view unread posts, as it's always empty. AND what is the difference between this, and View Active Topics?

Re: Issue White block between posts.

It is now a clear space, which shows the background image. Very annoying, and very off putting. I'd rather have white space back.
