I believe the Irish dubbed it "smirting".

There's a Star Lord one-off involving a man called Sheldon who abandons his family to live in a robotic house.   In the end the house won't let him leave because it loves him.   The final frame shows a skeletal Sheldon in a nightshirt, with the house's words "Oh Sheldon, I love you!" or somesuch.

For some reason this left me in floods of tears - I was eight at the time! - and freaks me out to this day.   I still have no idea why.

I used to have that fabulous FP2 design on a black t-shirt, long since flaked away...

I'd love another one.   Wonder if Forbidden Planet could flog them again?   Also, I wonder if the original art still exists...?

In case this hasn't been mentioned elsewhere.   One of the more interesting suggestions of recent years...

Write in to the Ask The SFXperts feature in SFX magazine.   If Dave Langford doesn't know it then no-one will!

There's an insane-yet-actually-quite-plausible theory doing the rounds that John Simm is playing an evil version of the Doctor from the alternative universe where the new Cybermen came from.

Excellent.   I've got the old Dragon's Dream reprints of Man From Nowhere/Rogue Planet/Reign Of The Robots from the early 80s.   If you've not read these strips, I can't recommend them highly enough.

I remember the dinosaur one.   It was a statue that came to life, with some kids inside.   Can't remember its name, but it's definitely been mentioned on The Mausoleum, which is the ultimate "can anybody remember this programme?" site.   They know all!

The Descent is a great film with a disappointing - if logical - ending.   The overall feeling is that Neil Marshall couldn't work out which ending out of two possibilities to go for, so he used both.

In fact, in ***pretension alert!*** thematic terms it makes perfect sense; but to yer mainstream audience it's probably not what people are looking for in a satisfying ending.

Having said that, if you're not claustrophobic at the moment, then the ***spoilers!*** tunnel cave-in sequence should see to that!   It scared me shitless.

Gets a big thumbs-up and a recommendation from me, for what it's worth.
