being only a rare tv watcher, i'm no expert on trends. but yur right Paul there seems to be a lot cashing in on stupid generalised myths, but with a slant to the 'men are idiots' who can't cook etc. imagine one where a woman was shown to be crap at navigating, or fuddle headed at the accounts, there'd be an outcry, its just not trendy any more.
However i have noticed other trends, we have the nagging woman crap man ones. The busy working super mum ones. there is a LOT of single proffesional women ones, luxuriating with shampoo, chocolate etc. there is a few lads ones , the 'wicked' etc which seems to say being a bloke & getting pissed & being a prankster to your mates is okay, well i suppose it is.
But generally there is an all persuasive amorallity going on, daddy or chips? a little girl is cynical enough to choose fast food unhealthy gutrot over her own father? hey dads doesnt that make you feel good about your parenting role. They are countless the ads which tell us to cheat, lie, steal, or be a selfish scumbag. when was the last time you saw one which recommended being kind, helpful & respectful ? cept i suppose unless you count the happier safer family cars smiling kids protected by dads choice in rollcage & SRS. or that m-people one about reaching for the hero inside yourself? that was a good message, but what the hell was it advertising, little girls with no road sense?

i mean when even eating a yogurt implies that someone is suffering for your pleasure but its okay ..what the hell ? theyre off their heads.

i try veryu hard to feel sorry for the fajita ad woman, shes clearly mentally deranged, you can tell by the fact that she talks in a slurred baby voice with bad accent. and that shes on the phone while someones cooking dinner, no social skills see. that blokes not her date but her care worker. why that would make us buy the product i don't know? poor man needs a wage rise.
