Classifieds / T.A.R.D.I.S. For Sale In My Town
02 March, 2016, 04:13:15 PM
Somebody who's running game shop in the old part of Ipswich want to seel the replica of the old style London Police Box otherwise known as the T.A.R.D.I.S, but you might as well go with the original description, because that's more accurate. It won't take you anywhere & the only space it contains is the four dimensions inside. I imagine it would be kind of cramped if you wanted to get inside it. I don't think it even opens. Maybe it has a symbolic value that worthy of respect when a situation demands it.

The owner wants to part with it for $3000.  I was shocked too!

I told the owner I'd would spread the word to anybody that might be interested. I told him the shipping cost could be murder if it ever gets brought overseas, and I was told it could be dismantled and then rebuilt. So, there is that as well.

PM me if you are interested or want to know more.

Help! / Help...I Can't Fix My Screen Resolution.
24 February, 2016, 01:55:40 AM
Ever since, I installed a game called The Last Dogma. My audio started making buzzing noise (Which I fixed by just moving some wiring around the back of the computer.) and the screen resolution got bigger. So that I had to move the mouse to edge of the screen just to see more of it so I can navigate the entire desktop. All the icons are bigger.

Now I have gone into the screen options menu to adjust the resolution and I've tried nearly everyone, but they all look like a some variation of being too large for my screen and always with bigger icons. I don't need it to be that big and find it almost intolerable. Because of the amount of mouse scrolling I need to do to get around the screen.

I tried several things to fix this including restarting the computer hot and cold by just switching it off and waiting five minutes before switching it on again. I have also tried using the Norton 360 Anti-Virus Software by scanning the entire computer for bugs, hacks, exploits, and then downloading the update, running performance tasks, running the self-diagnostic.

The only thing I haven't tried is a full or partial restore?

You know how some games, adjust the resolution of your desktop while they are running and sometimes I notice this as plain as the nose on my face, but they always reset the resolution to how it was whenever I quit from playing them. This time it's stuck in any resolution that seems too big for the screen and it it's not right that none of the settings resolve this that way I would like it to.

I even checked the other computer, since I had set it up in the same room and it was fine it's set at 1400 by 900. So I did the same thing on this one and it's still not right.

Off Topic / I'm Here Now
09 February, 2016, 04:13:59 PM
Here I am.. and now that my cable television and internet and phone ae connected. I can safely say I have finally moved house and living on my own now.

Of course, my dad arrived at around about mid-morning yesterday to assist with the technical stuff and also reminded me why I had been so anxious to do the move. Yet, I won't elaborate. on that.

Much happier now... for the time being!

Games / Conan Games
30 January, 2016, 11:03:12 AM
Was looking for a older game based on same character.....I think it was just called Conan I did play demo of it thinking it was kind of cool for that time, but I it may be kind of dated now. It's still interesting. I remember every time Conan died in Hyborea he had to win another fight to the death in the realm of gods (Aesir Is that what they call it?) before he would be allowed to return to Hyborea (In the realm of the living again!)

Can't find this game anywhere and for some reason I can't get You-Tube to work right now to show anybody.

Age of Conan, which my father brought for me back in 2010 for my birthday along with some other games. despite the boobies and decapitations and other severed limbs. I could stick it, and eventually stooped played because I just don't how to circle strafe to save my character.

This new game Conan Exiles has only trailer and some words about massive-online-multi-player survival game where you can sacrifice other players -Only their Avatars at least- to gods.

Read more about it here

So, I assume you don't get to be the man himself or maybe any of the other familar characters that time/realm and the Conan in the trailer looks a lot like G.Fabry Slaine (Just look at his face in that trailer!).....

Since Age of Conan I never like that way he's been depicted...it's original artwork where he's more lithe and not so over encumbered by muscle.

I think the only time I seen him done as close to he drawn by F. Frazetta....

Was in that series that was admittedly too awful to compare to any of the films....

Ralf Moellar had the best look, that might have been better with more funding. The only other thing I have seen him in was that Cyborg film with Jean Claude Van Damn.

Books & Comics / 2000AD Store....Why?
14 January, 2016, 07:51:24 AM

I've already got these, except my version of Grail War was always corrupted and won't open and then claims I don't own it when ever I try to download it again.

I think had the problem before and it was fixed after I notified the right people.

Yet, I think the problem is recurring and I couldn't deal with it now.

I'm not going to rebuy all the digital Slaine's again.

I have them all, you know.

Is there, lull in the sales of these or does this have something to do with those miniature's based on characters' Time-Killer.

I did leave link to show them somebody where to buy that very graphic novel when asked.

Never the less, I do hope this helps improve the 2000Ad economy.

Music / Bowie Trivia
12 January, 2016, 12:12:20 AM
These are quoted from Jareth the Goblin King/Labyrinth.....

Jareth: You remind me of the babe.
Goblin: What babe?
Jareth: The babe with the power.
Goblin: What power?
Jareth: The power of voodoo.
Goblin: Who do?
Jareth: You do.
Goblin: Do what?
Jareth: Remind me of the babe.

That I was trying to remember before.

They're not entirely original, but either whoever wrote the lines for that film or Mister Bowie himself immortalised those lines as his own.

So that's kind of cool.

I never thought it was incriminating and you may find out from which other old film that came from here.

Here is that film-clip taken from the movie.

Film & TV / Can't Find that Topic....
10 January, 2016, 09:30:27 AM
Where we talking about how some of us thought gender stereotypes are tight and other think this doesn't matter. Some body mentioned the new gender-swapped Ghostbusters and then I used Sex in the City as my argument and then somebody said Entourarge and then I came back with that it's not deriative (Where I actually mean Official Spin-Off!) of the original series, even though it's very much the same except more men orientated.

Kind of like comparing Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Demons (The latter is just awful!)

Anyway, I not resurrecting that argument....no, no, no, I just thought you'd like to see this.....

Powder-Puff-Girls Using a GTA V Mod

This time very funny.....and there is also.....

Scooby-Doo with GTA V Make-Over

Pokémon GTA V Style

While the first tow made me smile, the last one gave me red face. I think  it's title song that did it.

Creative Common / Design Your Own Minatures
09 January, 2016, 01:55:54 AM
Ever heard of Hero-Forge-Minatures?

I might put up links to this website earlier....like nearly a year ago when I heard about it first. Not that I could find any thing when I tried to Google-Search for it on this site.

Since I first played around with trying to recreate my favourite 2000Ad characters (Guess who?) with other supporting characters using what I thought is probably a little too limited with options that have now been expanded some what. Yet, you still you cannot sculpt them outright. It takes truly talented get what they truly want with what is given here.

Really love the soft-focus in the background. Gives it a really old world fantasy film look.

Once again with the well known 2000AD characters. I started with a supporting one.....

Myrddin

I can't for the life of me find any of the snapshots I took of my figures. So That link is the best I could do and I just found all the other figures I made on that site, when I logged in again. Reason for hardly ever using this site is that it was very slow to load and sometime it wouldn't even load at all.

Off Topic / Obsessed with Bodecia
08 January, 2016, 04:10:13 AM
Spent almost the later part of morning, noon, and earlier part of the afternoon chasing down some cheese-cake type picture (All over the internet!) that I now know was illustrated by Chris Achill'eos.

Firstly, I scanned all my book selves for this book I brought on air-brushed fantasy women and other soft pornographic picture of females in similar way. I'm sure the picture I was looking for is featured in there. It wasn't where I though I left it, so I have another missing book.

I also have the picture on the cover of issue of Heavy metal Magazine (Volume 7, Number 9) and was also sure I had trashed that one ages ago.

So, dis internet search for warrior women in fantasy art and also added that famous horned helm found in the Thames at Waterloo.

Got to continue this post later....work to do now!

Film & TV / Shannara Chronicles
20 December, 2015, 01:53:24 AM

Sitting there watching Dark Matter after missing most of it due to my initial impressions and thinking it was better than I thought it was.....

Then I saw a teaser that sounded familiar.....the word Shannara kind of reached out and grabbed me and I immediately got out of the lounge chair and walked to some books piled on top of some furniture where I knew I left my copy of....

Only to confirm the spelling and then walked into the my father's pc in adjoining room to look it up on the internet to also confirm that it's officially based on the work of Terry Brooks.

Wow...

Noting that I also mentioned this on Shannara topic on the Books N Reading thread. reading my posts back in 2010 where I will repeat that I in only read the first book in the series (Which belonged to my mother!) and found interesting.

I might compare it to Shadowrun, but in this instance this is further into the future after a nuclear holocaust has caused civilisation to collapse and the emergence of human aberration into the typical fantasy-races of Dwarf, Gnome and Troll as well as animals mutated into own aberrations as well.  While still a lot of humans remained the same and perhaps some animals. Elves re-emerged, because they were always around as separate and faery race that evolved with humanity since the dawn of their time and perhaps before it. They finally decide to reveal themselves and intermingle. (Because one of the main characters is a Half-Elf!) There are Druids which are supposedly of human stock and through some strange magic/science have immortal.

Learning that Manu Bennett landed the role of Allanon who is like back-clad a Gandalf or Cathbad on growth hormones. He supposed all knowing and about seven feet tall (I just read that in his character description!) and very lean. Manu who few of us agree might made a good Slaine just does not project Eruditeness to me. Not saying he's dumb, but he's just comes across a person who majored in sport rather academics. From what saw of the snippets of footage shown below, I' m not convinced of acting in this range and find this a very risky casting decision. My first thoughts were the late Leonard Nimoy who possibly do this now. and then I thought where was Tony Robbins who as a motivational speaker. I'm not sure of his acting ability, but I guess he has good convincing ability. and I saw him cameo as himself in Shallow Hal. Yep, I still see the undefeated Gaul. he more salt of the earth than I think Allanon would be.

John Rhys-Davies is King Eventide. The king of all Elves. Not a character I was familiar with, but I do recall seeing the name in the book above. He might have been in the first novel. I just don't remember that well. Like last read that novel back in 1988 and this was only once. I found the book a interesting alternative to Lord of the Rings which I never read until the latter half of next the year. (Skipping a few chapters). I think I had The Hobbit a few years earlier though which is from where I built my foundation on that type of fantasy and seeing the Ralph Bankshi version of the Lord of the Rings on television at around about the same time. Ignoring the fact that he might be now type-cast as a Treeish-Dwarf. I'm not altogether sure about the Elves of Shannara , but I think he could have been a better contender for the role of Allanon with rugged -beardy features. Remembering him as professor Arturo from Sliders. He even looks more like the Brothers Hilderbrante (Twin brothers who's art work was included inside the novelisation I read and gave me a more complete vision of the scenery and characters. Even if it's some what unrealistic. There is a niche for this type of art work and I do like it!) version of him.

That visual of him also fits the written description of him as well.

The next character, I could identify is the Half-Elf-Wil Ohmsford who I thought was the same half-elf main character from the book I read, but might just be a later relative of his. A possible descendant. The name itself and their elven heritage hints at sharing lineage with Jerle Shannara who is supposed to be some legendary personality comparable to Glorfindel from Lord of the Rings. Yeah, well, can't fault his elven heritage with his looks and the pointed ears. I just wish they were doing this from the start. I did read the first book.

The book with characters I was familiar with and two of them that do remind me of Han Solo (Menion Leah) and Obi- Wan-Kenobi (Balinor Buckhannah) in a fantasy less Scifi setting.

There also don't appear to be any Dwarves/Gnomes, but there Trolls. Maybe those were combined given that the name Troll can mean Dwarf or Troglodyte as well.

From what I have seen of the production and setting. This seems impressive enough and in places astoundingly so. The forest have their orange, yellow, green leaves that I took note from the brothers Hilderbrant illustrations I mentioned earlier Although the castle architecture looks more modern than expected and probably from influences just before the holocaust. I might have preferred the dark-ages thing all over again as it was famous for with just a hint of rediscovered modern technology.

Special effects look to be right on par with just for those just for television superhero series that are all the rage now. I'm not thinking what if this was given the same love that Game of Thrones and early Walking Dead had acquired. It just looks a little under-baked by the limitation of a not quite so huge budget.

Yet, the source book brought, had gotten me more disinterested with this when I found out more about it. I originally brought the book for my now late mother who was gone by the time I had returned home after long nearly five year adventure down south.

I still look forward watching this on Netflix when it does. I know I won't be watching cable television anymore by the time this premieres early next year.

Chronicles of Shannara - First Look

Meet The Characters

#35
I had programed Star-Wars-Rebels into the cable television after finding it was surfing for channels on the remote. I did really watch it, because it was the same simple computer generated stuff that was being made since whatever Star wars related stuff on the Childrens-Cartoon-Network had been around. I just never liked that because it seemed wrong to me and something about it was always broke immersion for me.

Then there was that Clones Wars cartoon series, I regret missing that none. It did sound better. I could never find time to watch that one despite how much free time I do have.

Yet, this new series was meant to be a improvement with new voices and such. I only recall two of the rebels disguised as Troopers, one of them smaller and younger and dressed as a cadet. trying to use the Jedi-Mind-Trick on a guard when they were trying to smuggle a box of something past him.

The cadet's mind trick never worked and not even sure if the guard noticed it was Jedi-power he was using. The guard was just annoyed that he being talked t in that way. So, the cadet's buddy, who was next to him all along. Disguised as a trooper just like the guard does the same thing and he had to repeat himself before it worked. The cadet was a bit sore his power didn't work so well.

Might have been a Padawan and his instructor or some like that.....and something I found kind to funny.

I left the television on that channel, halfway due to the remote being left somewhere else and because I was intrigued by the new Avengers_Assemble.

Who ever voices Iron-Man doesn't sound half as interesting as Robert Downey Jr. and Thor sounds more British. While the Incredible-Hulk actually speaks, but like typical cartoon caveman while being big, mean and green. Otherwise this show is nod to the ones I used to watch in the 80's and that is okay me.

Then a Tron cartoon...with very stylised graphics, that reminded me of the work of MacMahon. Not tat I really followed what was going on. Yet, red and black suits of the bad guys also remind me of Slaine's black and red gladiator suit.  Something I was not going share with you , but did so anyway. Not sure what should go on in cartoon based on Tron if I don't recognise any of the cast or storyline.

Then I saw a advertisement for the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon adaption and this one looked just as sweet as the A.A one. That's all I saw of it though before I found the remote and returned to my regular channeling.

To put up!

Since I found the trailer yesterday and people like Commander Forces and Goaty don't seem to have done the honours themselves yet. No problem with that, but there might be a problem If they have . Yet it doesn't appear to have been the case....last time I checked, my computer went for dive in the ocean and stopped responding until I restarted the thing. Then I had a problem re-authenticating a new password on my account here and had to request about A. Key sent by e-mail. So, I'm not happy right now.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Two - Out of the Shadows and I'd like to enlighten you with the knowledge that they used the Out of the Shadows thing in a very good game I have on Steam about the Ninja Turtles as well. Taking that hip-hop music from the very first film when it started along with the hit cartoon and in this film it self they breath life back into some collaboration from Run-DMC and Steve Tyler which fits, but I know that music was earlier than any of the related media.

My first thought were surprisingly that Bee-Bop hair styler changes (When he is transformed into the Wart-Hog mutie!) not so dramatically, there is drop in quality. Which I can only attribute to aside effect from the mutagen. Not that's it's too much of problem, but just see him here.

Yeah, some is definitely lost in the transition there.....

and his partner is that famous Irish wrestler known as Shaemus both looking just little out of shape.

I though Bee-Bop was less stout looking fellow before he was altered in the cartoon....

Enough with that....

What about Baxter Stockman.

Not that you can see it here, but what I got from the trailer is that he seems bit too sugary-coated.

Might have liked to have seen Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor in this role, back in the day this was first adapted to film and if they were bothering to use all the original characters.

Maybe Eddie could still do this, but this new guy. I don't know him. What's he been in and will he be able surpass his candy exterior.

What really bothers me.....

Now picking the character lead from Arrow, they have destroyed my nerdy interest in this totally human vigilante who always struck me as being partially Asian/Italian/American Indian (I do know the first tow thirds of that strike me as what imagine most New York natives are.....(Aside from other whites, Jews and Africans!) and if this fellow does actually have that in lineage. He shouldn't hide it like this fellow appears to or maybe somebody a lot like Elias Kotas

One of the few things I think they got right in the original film. Tell the other guy to at least grow his hair longer or wear a wig or go back to his island to learn more lose that so clean-cut exterior.

Megan Fox is just so easy on the eyes, but still doesn't register any real likeness to....

I guess the original was closer.....

Not that I really noticed at the time!

BTW.... I just noticed this in images related to Kasey Jones......

Some of those originals have shown how hard they are to beat!

Books & Comics / Human Centapede Inspires a Manga
11 December, 2015, 05:26:28 AM
What the title says!

What can I say, but wasn't talking about the possibility of some thing like this. Some sort of cartoon series based on the horror and it's not like the people who are famous for Animai and Manga haven't been there before.

Just watch anything like Wicked City

#38

Read more about it here.

Until I found out the new guy for the role of Tarzan I think he got that name from the natives, because those apes that raised him only ever say Oook-Ook!) was the Skarsgård guy from True-Blood (Viking-Vampire! and not the creepy villain from the Green-Lantern film.

I still like the The Highlander version from the 80's when he was brought up by a jungle filled with animalistic (Or more civilised depending on which way you look at him!) Sean Connery's.

Off Topic / Happy Birthday......
09 December, 2015, 04:59:13 PM
To Me!

That is me about 42 year earlier at a guess sitting in a high chair right behind where I am now sitting in the kitchen. That plug to fridge...Which may well be deceptively in reach of my infantile hands, but most probably isn't. Right now, there is table with gear piled on top of it...so I can't recreate that image now...

In this here picture below....

I would like to say this picture was taken about two months ago after I had cut what ever style of hair-cut that could be called with the electric shears I brought months earlier. While sitting at the computer sitting next to fridge and that the exact same power outlet.

Yet no, it's not, but because I sitting in my room, (Well it's pretty much mine after I claimed it!) at my own computer taking that selfie. It was about two months earlier or pretty close to that time and I did take to my head with a those electric shears trying to style a awesome mo-hawk. Yet, I just don't have the hair to support that hair-style properly.

I just wanted to wish myself a happy 44th today or I should say in exactly 6 more hours when I was born 44 years this day in the local Ipswich hospital. Up the hill in town.

I know it's rude to praise myself this way. Yet, I know nobody else will do this or at least try until they know I'm having a birthday this day.

Games / Look What's Coming.....
06 December, 2015, 02:09:35 PM

Play as Jason Vorhees in a trip back to the early 80's thriller stalking the grounds of Crystal lake bring gory death to the counsellors holed up there or be one of the potential victims.

Which would you prefer?

I'm not sure if the Kick-Starter  this is still live.....See for yourselves.

It doubt it though, but at least it does look like it succeeded.

Personally, I've never been a big fan of this....Yet, I do recognise cult-status when I see it!. it's just that really was turned off by this so far in my face horror when I was in my pre-teens before I was introduced to evil Dead two on video night at a old school friends house. Too chilled by imaged of campers with large bladed weapons buried in some portion of them body with their innards hanging out and blood dripping and split everywhere I'd seen while browsing the bookstores and newsagencies while leafing through one of those well known horror magazines on daily trips to a well known shopping mall back in the day.

Still don't like watching the F.T.13TH films out for some reason. even when I now prefer Alien and it's sequels and that one has had it's own fair share of licenced games already.

Loved contact these guys and pitch my idea for M*A*S*H - 4077TH game that looks like it was set in in similar location in the less populated parts that America forgot. In fact some of you may know that MASH was filmed at a backwoods ranch near Malibu and strangely the warmth and comedy of the latter makes it lighter reflection of the horror of the first films and game. Even with the darkness of Vietnam war.
