Film & TV / StarWars Holiday Spiecal AGAIN!!!!!
13 July, 2006, 08:33:21 PM
I just found the cartoon featured onthis spiecal from along time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away.

I actualley like the simplistic presentation of the cartoon. The it is drawn and animated like a few of the other great cartoons of it's time.

Books & Comics / Slaine Novel on Amazon.com
01 July, 2006, 05:58:59 PM
I was looking for 2000AD related stuff on Amazon.com when found the advertisement for that paperback novel Slaine : Exile ( Steve Saville.) that everbody was hinting at on this site earlier.

Personally, I thought that it wasn't going to ever make it to publishing stage judging from all the negativity around it. It does say it will be published at the end of this year.

I might just need a word of confirmation that this is not a Amazon hoax. Although I very much doubt it, judging from the cover art shown.

By the summary giiven, it looks as though some of the backstory that was hinted at in the comics may have achieved some coverage in this new medium.

My appologies if somebody has allready made this clear to the forum. I did do a search for this topic and no one has said anything for last seven days.

Though all that talk of Horror novels a fortnight ago may have been a hint.

Suggestions / 2000AD Theme Park.
18 June, 2006, 04:16:29 PM
I don't know of how feasiable this would be. ASs I know 2000Ad is not that well kown among the common people.

Imagine something like MovieWorld ( Like we have at our own Gold-Coastin Australia.) except it's based on yours truly.

The whole place could be housed in a Mega-City like complex that can only be entered by Monorail.

The inside would mainly house the well known locales of the famous comic with actors walking around in costume & perhaps riding around on modified motor cycles also. There would be parades and shops, resturaunts, smokatariums, gifts stores, Shuggyhalls . To top it all off, there would be big stage show featuring Dredd himself. ( Simliar to the Police Academy one at Movie World.)

Other parts of the theme park may also house Nu-Earth, or Termight with a Terror-Tube under-ground  railway system connecting the diffrent areas. There would be other rides as well, as is per usual in a Theme park.

It wouldn't have to be as detailed though. Alot of the hard to get to expencive scenery could just be painted onto large wooden backdrops behind the other buildings.

That would be cool.

Books & Comics / 2000AD in Australia
16 June, 2006, 03:31:13 PM
Somehow, every single comic book supplier in my local area has let me down in some small way.

None of them really stock any the 2000AD product anymore.

Quick smart, we need a official 2000AD bookstore!

News / Throw out your Plasma Screen Televisions.
07 June, 2006, 01:38:34 AM
Imagine sitting in your lounge room or outside as hot air, trapped inbetween to layers of cold air, pipe or hole somewhere to create a teleivison picture in mid air.

No more, bulky screens taking up much needed space.

They call it Fog Teleivison and it's costs a small fortune. So I guess it's not such a great idea to throw out your current television if your not a multi-millionaire.

Just gotta wait unitl they perfect this new invention and start making smaller versions with cheaper parts.

But how hard is it to make a verticle layer fog the same size as a large screen TV. The tricky part is  getting a picture. Now I think, just a projecter that has been adapted to putting a picture on a billowing cload of heated air may do the trick. I suspect it's alot more complecated actaulley.

I could imagine the other problems this may cause like mold and mildew, so a outside location may be preferable.

Not that I could find any official website I had found something similer being advertised.

Help! / My Little Picture
04 June, 2006, 05:39:06 PM
I really want to change my picture as it is starting to really disturb me.

So I have sketched another of my self. This is very close to how I currently look.

I have shaved the beard and I am now cultivating the beginningings of a handle bar mustache.

I just wanna replace my current sig picture with the new one.

I've done this once before ( For my current sig pic.) and my memeory just needs refreshing on how to do it again.

I think I gotta E-mail it to somebody, and they will shrink it downa and send it back to me where I gotta use a bit of HTML to put it back up on the site.

So if it's not to much trouble to give me the correct intructions.

I should have my more suitable sig up here in no time.

Help! / No Front Page!!!
04 May, 2006, 01:28:52 PM
Lately, when ever I logged onto this site, I keep getting this page with DR & Quinc( Check the link below.)......

Of course If I bothered to scroll down the page I Googled I probably would find the correct page.

Though I always click onto the link on very top for as is force of habit and lately it's been different.

It's no big problem though. Just means I will more often than not miss the news on the front page and will have to rely on my more old fashioned webpage navigation  skills to find it again. It's a essential page that I have grown used to seeing and reuires more than clicking on icons to get it. Espeically if this site is entered anywhere but the front page.

Off Topic / Psst...Just between you & me!
27 April, 2006, 05:50:24 PM
At the Golden Globes awards some guy walks up to Scarlett Johansson and squeezes her left breast.

Not that it's a really bad a thing.

She doesn't even slap him, or scream 'LAWSUIT'.

I guess if it was any other guy off the street or me for that matter. I'd find myself talking to some policeman.

Apparently that guy is a GAY publisist and that is the reason he got away with it. ( So far as it seems.)
I not knocking the GAYS here. It's just that, as of that moment they have immunity from squeezing the breasts of famous starletts any time they like. On the red carpet, in full veiw of everyone and caught on film.

Well, if I ever find myself in that guys position. I'd be Gay publicist also.

By the way, I'm sorry if I have offended any monorities with this post, but I thought it way too interesting not to mention.

24 April, 2006, 03:59:32 PM

General / Use of Alcohol?
02 April, 2006, 02:07:45 PM
I ahve be looking over the 'Rogue Trooper' game official website and noticed that this was included in the games rateing.

Something like use of Violence and Use of Alcohol.

I'm just wondering how they could put this into a game of this type.

I 've never really thought of Rogue as boozer myself. Unless their merely referring to the alcohol advertising.

I just think it's very strange rating.

Not since the likes of 'Redneck Rampage', I have really noticed any references to beverages in other games.

Books & Comics / New Artist for Slaine.......
26 March, 2006, 09:18:02 AM
In the event that another Slaine chronicle is started after entire Book of Invasions ended.

Should C. Lanely stay on as the Artist for that character or should G. Fabry, M. McMahon, S. Bisley, G. Staples or D. Power resume their position, again.

Or new artist.

Does anyone have a opinion hwith this.

Prog / About Slaine -Prog 1475
23 February, 2006, 01:45:32 AM
The one featuring Slaine standing on a hill top with his head turned away. The breastplate he is wearing, looks to have two holes, like sockets on the front. They could be for Gems ( Like in Diablo.) or they could be for.........

Anyway, last night I decided to watch abit of cable and took a trip down memory lane with twenty old cartoon called ' The Centurians '. About three dudes that constantly walk around in Exo-Frames that can transport them anywhere in instant and fuse them with various ordanaces of mass distruction that are teleported down to them by a female operative of theirs in a orbital satellite. Their Battle cry 'Power Extreme'

Anyway, I was looking at the Exo Frames they wore and noticed they had similar looking sockets in them for mounted weapons and other such military hardwares.

Similar to what Slaine appaers to be wearing in that cover picture. Similar except  Slaine's looks more more or less low tech as would be appropiate.

Could this be a the secret of Slaine's famed ' Hero Harness ' and the source of his Warp powers? Could he actualley be the fourth member of this this group?

Have alook at the pictures of them on this website and decide for yourself.

General / The Knucker
23 February, 2006, 01:10:25 AM
I think it was the saga of 'Horned God' that it featured last, though I haven't read every single issue of 2000Ad featuring Slaine since that particular storyline.

Nor have I seen every issue of SLaine drawn by Lanely and wouldn't know if it had made a return. Anyway, I was wondering how that artist would porttay the dragon.

Any comments.....

Film & TV / Soccer Thugs
09 January, 2006, 12:42:58 AM
Soccer is actualley ther first thing that pops into my head when I hear or read the word Hooligan. Though I am not sure if Soccer is a major theme in this movie.

'Green Street Hooligans' is movie set in somewhere in the UK about outsider ( Elijah Wood ) who is new town after being wrongfully expelled from his local school.
He gets picked on in the city, and some friends of the people he is now living with who turn out to be a Pacifst gang that control the area come to his aid.

There are supposedley alot of street bashing typical hooligan behaviour by the looks.
