Off Topic / Flippin'eck Tucker!
29 January, 2003, 04:45:26 AM
Yes, Tucker returned today to Grange Hill.

Not only that but he did indeed say "Flippin'eck!" and on arrival immediately had a stand-off with a pompous teacher.

He didn't however say : "It's only pocket-money Mister H!"

Great stuff.

General / Ant Wars - What's not to like?
19 January, 2003, 10:18:01 PM
I have never read 3D At Attack, er, I mean Ant Wars, though I was wondering what was so bad about it. Giant ants at war presumably people trapped in the middle, were they robots/ant craft for humans? It actually sounds kind of fun and not least original.

So instead of reviving old classic strips only for them not to live up to the original, or at least retreading old ground, could this or any other legendary crap strip be made to redeem itself?

Prog / Dante's cliff-hanger
13 January, 2003, 08:43:44 PM
So what happened to Dante when he went over the cliff? Is the latest story supposed to be the latest instalment and we assume he walked out of the wreckage and constructed a raft, or is it another flashback to earlier times? Bit of a disappointment if it's the former I reckon (though I haven't read this week's yet in case it has any clues)

Obese Cat says Happy Christmas all, and where are you Wake to activate my new Christmassy icon?

I hoped it would go away but every time I see that bloody thread I'm reminded of my own typo. That's it, I'm starting a new one here.

General / Gave Artist's In-Jokes
17 September, 2002, 03:26:40 AM
After someone mentioned the Fabry "Ivor/Giant/Rick" judge name badges gag (I'm often looking at the strip in prog 600 and never spotted that once) and Trevor Hairsine's Thrill-Suckers spotted on Strontium Dogs pages, I was wondering what other artists' in-jokes are out ther that we may not have spotted, or forgotten about.

I don't know if anyone noticed in the first Sinister Dexter I drew U R Here the I.O.U signed by Dan Abnett in the pole dancer's G-String? Anyway, more hilarious japes like that, please.

Cheers,

ADE
