28 degrees, after the F1 race, with ice cold beer on the open air Padang as the fireworks end

i was never lucky enough to take part in singing Bohemian Rhapsody under the direction of Freddy Mercury, but this is still a moment of true celebration for me to be able to do so, with a crowd of ohhhh 15,000 or so other like minded souls.

this truly shows the reality of this board,
a community of fellows bound by a shared love of 2000ad Dredd and sci-fi
truly a wonderful tribute,
I am sure on some level it will bring a moment of both pride and a smile to his family in the years to come.

22nd May for us mere mortals is the official first airing on TV.

Dominic Dorn the lead character  played FLEMING in the very good SKY tv show drama about Ian fleming, based on that fact this has added to whole thing for me,

iTunes TAKE ME MONEY!!!!

truly outstanding wasn't it, the less is more approach.

the twists, which hit each of us like a hammer, the layering and slow but steady draw to her.

yes intelligent sci-fi at is best.

a hero of my youth, likely the most second played album i ever purchased Purple rain 1984.
I was 16,
he may have been bonkers i will grant you that...... but musically a bloody genius,

saw him live in London i think it was Wembley arena (?possibly) I travel a lot so it could be wrong location,
but OUTSTANDING on stage.

2016 have you not sated your thirst yet for our heros and icons.

sat by pool, watching the youngest tribe members play, with a copy of 2000ad,
integral part of my life since 1977!
as such it really is part of being HAPPY.

Peaky Blinders very very good!
just completed S1 and S2
some great moments overall, worthy of our time.

Rewatching Deep Space Nine,
have to say, its holding up quite well,
on S3 now,
has all the elements I enjoy in a good sci fi but not too campy soap manner.
works for me.

Film & TV / Re: STAR TREK returns to TV...

heard that Michael Dorn has confirmed he is working on a separate project Capt Worf, official at this stage but not in production as the current show is said to be.

I will be purchasing the subscription iTunes season pass for this, without doubt though.

Film & TV / Magnificent seven the REMAKE.

the trailer hits us on Wednesday.

i shall be one of the first in the line waiting to buy tickets in the rain,
ok in coffee bar with my phone, BUT.......

i still fear this.
despite some decent casting,

what is the hive minds opinion,

or we fear the reaper here.

« on: 20 April, 2016, 09:51:00 AM »
just heard the new magnificent seven trailer hits the inter web thingy on WEDNESDAY.

whilst i am truly WOW!!! YES OMG!!!
I equally feel

this is risky, can they truly recreate the brilliance of the original.
I will watch on the big screen. top tickets etc, such a movie deserves no less.

how does the hive mind see this.
chris Pratt and Denzil washington, seem pretty good casting to me.

Prog / Re: Prog 1977
« on: 19 April, 2016, 03:18:50 PM »
overall WOW prog,
though the need to stop drink coffee walk about and come back was a good thing.

can't help but see Blackhawk overtime I look at Charons Mercy, which makes me feel old.
gordon rennin still reminding me he is one of the greats

love the art, but the story failing to get me really involved, not sure why not.

Survival geeks,
madness, utter madness, this will be getting a complete reread in one sitting, to really let it get into my system with the smile it deserves,

Dredd, I have no words to offer REALLY?
are we going to have a  discussion thread on this? or just ignore the elephant.
once again YES!!! what a prog for me.

Lawless this I enjoy, touched a lot of buttons for me,

STAY SHARP Art has me wiping my chin...... can't wait thats a real tease in a bloody awesome way.

Really enjoying the articles overall, adding a texture and depth to the meg which makes it a deeper read for me, all this and the podcast, slightly overwhelming in a GREAT WAY

cover is good art, really is.
I just enjoy the classic uniform style more personally.
