Zarjaz!

Some people prefer The Cursed Earth, some people prefer Marshal Laww, some people prefer Slaine, but for my young self this was the absolute height of my Pat Mills mania. Everything about it worked so well, and on so many levels, and yet doesn't have the preachy vobe taht entered Mills work soon after.http://www.ninthart.com/images/abctbh2.jpg">

I didn't like The Black Hole. Great storytelling, but the artwork reminded me of paper bags from secondhand records shops.

Controversial.

That's true, now that I think about it, or artwork from a crappy backstreet comic shop. I recall that Bisley's backgrounds were always incredibly sparse. I wish he had stayed with b/w -his colour work soon got all muddy and, well, kind of lazy... as far as his 2000AD stint went.

This was on the BBC website today:

"The White House has cancelled a poetry forum over fears it would be taken over by ant-war protests."

arrghhh !  re-adjust your retro goggles immediately bisley was soooo fine, he was king of the era.

Nice review, but it WAS just a shoot-em-up really.
And for my ten pence: Bisley was better in B/W, when he put the time in.
It would be interesting to see him work on something regular in the prog again, if only to see if he could DO it.

Biz was good up until Horned God part 2. Part 3's art was awful.

Yeah, we lost Mills to the dark-side soon after that as well.
