Cheers to Jon and Terrapin for the suggestions re: muscle structure and foreshortening - it's much appreciated! I thought I'd have a bash at something approaching a full body shot:

Mixed feelings about this one. I kind of half-arsed it towards the end because I was getting a bit fed up with it. I'm quite pleased with the shading on the jumpsuit and the foreshortening on Dredd's left hand. Also the eagle looks nominally eagle shaped (which isn't always the case when I draw them). I'll admit to bodging the Lawgiver (I didn't have the confidence to foreshorten it) and Dredd's left shoulder pad is so badly painted it looks out of focus (which I guess is an achievement of sorts).

I do think Dredd is quite difficulty to draw well. There's a high level of detail present in his uniform; I actually find it pretty hard to do it justice (please don't ever get me started on that bloody name badge).

Another Dredd:

Initially I wasn't going to have him firing the Lawgiver but I couldn't get it to look right so I took the easy option and obscured it with a muzzle flash. Still looks a little off but not as bad as it did. Other than that I'm generally pleased with it.

Good work! My only criticism, and its only preference really, but I prefer the dark visor on Dredd's helmet.

Thanks! I agree the visor could do with a bit of TLC. Unfortunately my tablet is a bit sensitive and makes detailed line drawing more of a chore than it should be. That said, I've probably learnt enough from the last pic to get around it. I'll have a proper go at it next time. :D

It's favorite character time on the Weekly TAB, so here's two of my favorite non 2000AD characters.

Top work chaps, most impressive.

A been a painting again, a way to go with this yet - felt nice to splash the colour about, although everyone is liking the B&W more it seems... :D

I finished this illustration today. It's going to be on exhibition soon at a Melbourne art gallery.

Been catching up with several weeks of entries here - by golly, there are some talented folk here.

Good luck with the exhibition Puggdogg, that's a great pic - That Dredd reminds me of Steve Dillon's interpretation.

Excellent work! A fine memorial portrait if ever one was needed. And arduous attention to detail.

Fanastic Joker man, really strong. How did you achieve that effect on the first image?

There's some bloody nice stuff going on around here of late, genie arses the bunch of ya.

Here's something nostalgic for y'all, remember that issue of the Beano where Dennis dismembered Walter and fed the parts to his pets? Classic stuff. Oh how we laughed!
