oh, that's great to know thanks - I try and cover a wide range of comics so hopefully there's never too long to wait for a post on a subject you like - and a 'history' of 1300+ posts means there's always plenty to catch-up on
I'm just going to bump this thread up to the top again just so more people get a chance to see it.
Nice bit of fun. Not sure how many youngsters will get it!
Collins gave good Dredd. There's a lightness to everything there that really suits the brief.
A touch of Jim Baikie.

Interest I got a bit of Steve Parkhouse, but can defo see where you are coming from.
This got me thinking about the 1991 (1990?) Comic Relief Comic, which, from memory, had a bunch of tooth related stuff. Anyone remember any of the contents (or still have a copy)?
nice find, not seen that before.

Not that much from what I remember - the overall story had a contemporary Blackadder, the 2000 AD stuff had Jim Baikie drawing Dredd on a Lawmaster coming in to raise money, and a question about who had the biggest chin, Desperate Dan, Dredd, or Dan Dare, and the winner being Brucie...
I think I might have donated my copy to Eamonn, not sure.
A couple of interesting bits in it though.
Viz does a Roger Mellie page, where it talks about Savile, and FOR THE KIDS is in bold...
I also seem to recall reading DC had some restrictions on what could be drawn, basically they supplied poses ?
There was a also a spitting image comic book around the same time, which had Brett Ewins doing a Judge Deaf strip + some other bits, and some Steve Dillon strips.
Oh I was oblivious (or I imagine I'd long since forgotten about as it sounds like the kind of thing I would have definately known about at the time) to the Spitting Image comic. Bear Alley as a few pages, including the Judge Deaf one up.

Thanks for that Steve.

I snagged a copy off eBay a while back.
Desperate Dan rubbing shoulders with Dredd, Captain Britain, Lenny Henry and Bruce Forsyth no less!
A Dan Dare/Doctor Who mashup and a bunch of Marvel and DC characters giving Dredd a hard time!
I'll try uploading photos, if I can figure it out! :)
Hope this works!!!

One I've not seen mentioned anywhere is the Bryan Talbot one-pager Dredd that appeared in a consumer advice magazine for children. I think JD's story was about claiming against Trading Standards?
Judge Deaf is great!
FYI - Bryan Hitch also worked on the 'Loadsa Fun' book

and a final selection from Loadsa Fun - featuring Dave Gibbons & John M Burns

Feck, I remember the Comic Relief Comic. Couldn't afford it at the time being a schoolgoing teenager, but I really wanted to read it. I remember being surprised to see smutty Viz strips mixed in with kids' stuff but that made me want to read it all the more - I had just discovered Viz then and I haven't missed an issue since.
Great Dredd strip there! Shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but Beadle had already started wearing a bit thin by then.
