Lame-o Idea ?

I've seen some other 'message board' type thingies where a poster can choose pictures/images to go with their identities. You know, so the pic appears next to your name when you post. Given the creative types posting here it would be fun to see what alter-egos people came up with.

I'd be happy to add the possibility of 32x32 pixel gifs. People could use ones already on the site, or email me new ones to upload.

I could add a /icon command to the chat room.

The question is, where should they appear:

The message index table
The view thread page
The view/reply message page

If this is for every post can we make it really, really small? Like maybe 32x32? I've seen some message boards with huge graphical sigs or user images and it becomes incredibly annoying after a while.

That eggonlegs is 31x31, not 32x32. The feature has now been enabled. You type "/icon dredd" for example in the chat room, but only if there is already an image http://www.2000adonline.com/images/icons/dredd.gif on the site.

Check the properties for the existing site links to see a selection of available icons, or email new ones to me (binaries@2000adonline.com) and I'll upload them.
