Have we mentioned Bradley & Milton? Just had this pointed out to me!

The Mek-Nificent Seven Prologue & Epilogue were created especially for the first Titan reprints. This was some years after the story was first printed, but before The Black Hole started.

I would hazard a guess that it was also Titan's way of ensuring some sort of financial recompense for the series' creators.

Prog / Prog 2068 - In Cold Blood!

Now that's what I call a Prog!

The cliffhanger to Bad Company - I don't think I've been left hanging like that since the penultimate part of Bad Company II. Back then it was 'Who is the Krool Heart?' Now it's ...

Anyway, I appear to have been proved completely wrong in a previous post complaining about Bad Company - Terrorists.  Milligan and team appear to have been playing a long game.

The final ep in the prog had  "Helium will return". This has disappeared from the floppy, along with the weekly credits & story title etc.

I'm resigned to this being another Edginton strip that has been left abandoned half-way through (see also Ampney Crucis). I'd guess there's more money to be found in Strange Traces.

Am I right in thinking that comparisons between Titan and Rebellion have not always been favourable?

Yes, you'd be right. And understating the situation!Although, to be fair, it's mainly the early Rebellion reprints that doubled up the Titan reprints. The Treasury reprints have been well done. Just frustrating that Leopard from Lime Street has a quality reprint, while Bolland Dredd and B&W Slaine... doesn't.

Don't have sight of the book to confirm. Prog 305 has a colour star scan of the Blitzsoears being culled by Terminators - could this be it?

Also, quick question. The poster/ star scan that serves as the first page of 'The Secret Life of The Blitzspear', where is that from? The book only lists the annual, and from a quick flick, it doesn't appear to be from that.

I know artdroids has a reputation for being expensive but I'm wondering if this is a typo:

£15, 000 for a piece of Mcmahon art?  Granted it's gorgeous but still ... :o

Well given that he has a Dave Gibbons Doctor Who cover for Marvel, that wasn't even a cover (as he explains in the description) at the same price prehaps not!

I'm also not sure that the Star Lord Guide to the Galaxy was originally intended for pre-merger Star Lord...

Incidentally, I don't think there was anything cynical about the revival at all, it seemed like a very sincere attempt to do something that acknowledged Brett Ewin's legacy by two loyal friends.

Actually, I think you're right on this. I'd forgotten the timing of this. I was letting my disappointment with the series colour my thinking. I remember meeting Rufus at the Prog 2000 signing in Eastbourne and he was keen to point out how he'd based a character on Brett. He didn't know why there were so many resurrections either!

It's probably just me getting old, but the last series of BC seemed like an excuse to put the series on the cover again, to draw in nostalgic lapsed readers. As cynical an exercise as reheating Ace Trucking & Robo-Hunter for the specials.

The first 2 series of BC were astonishing reads. I remember loving the twists and turns of Book 2, with the final reveal of the narrator being a genuinely exciting moment. I think it was one of my favourite moments in the Progs ever. All I remember of the 2015 series is the wildly ill-fitting Boris Johnson cameo.

There was enough ambiguity in the 2015 series to lead me think that there was going to be an explanation for the messing with the characters. I'll go into this new series hoping for this such a pay off...

Another nice floppy this month. A decent collection of 'Terror Tales'. There's a couple of obvious twists, and 1 ending which left me thinking uh?, but on the whole a nice package.

Next month is 'Helium', one from the selection of Unfinished Works by Ian Edginton (when he should have been writing Brass Sun :) )

Regrettably, and a little understandably, they've gone with paperback so I'll stick with the Dark Horse editions.  Hey ho!

Although there isn't a hardback edition of Cold War...

Once the movie adaptation had finished it seemed the plan was to tell new stories. 4 episode of Bludd Feud were created (possibly 5). They eventually appeared in #11 & 12 of Lawman of the Future. A 5th wrap-up episode appeared in #13, though this may have been commissioned especially for LotF.

The Graveyard Shift.

Prog 335 was an astonishing issue. Completely different and challenging art styles from McMahon & O'Neill on Slaine & Nemesis. Yet even though Ron Smith was still drawing in his usual style *it felt as fresh and vibrant* as the others. For some reason, Smith didn't need to change his style to remain contemporary. No idea how he did it.
