and another thing why not subscribe digitally to the meg as well since it will work out cheaper as well

Yes, that might be a smart idea eh? I was trying to keep costs down, but in the long run, it's probably cheaper huh?

Many thanks! This seems to have worked!

Hopefully, the app will work fine next month when I buy the Meg, but if not, I know a workaround now!

General / Unable to purchase Meg 450?
18 November, 2022, 07:52:42 AM
Hello, fellow Earthlets.

Bit of an odd question this, but is anybody else having trouble purchasing Meg 450 in the 2000 AD app?

I have a digital sub to the progs so downloading them each week is no problem at all, but I usually buy the Megazine each month directly on the app. This time, however, I'm getting a grey swirly tab in place of the usual "purchase" green tab.

In case you're wondering, I have deleted and reinstalled the app on both my iPhone and iPad, but the issue still persists.

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?
07 May, 2022, 08:51:35 AM
I'm reading three books at the moment. They're all classics as I've been on a bit of old literature boom lately.

Thus Spoke Zarathustra - Friedrich Nietzche (Utterly bonkers. Not surprised he finished writing this shortly before going insane)
Gulliver's Travels - Jonathan Swift (A lot more fun than I thought it would be)
The Divine Comedy - Dante (Only just started this, but can already tell its gonna be a challenging read)

Hello!
My big brother, who got me into the Prog in the first place, has lived in Japan for nearly 20 years. I don't think he reads the Prog any more but I send him the odd TPB for Xmas, when I am feeling generous with thbe postage fees...

Hi there!

You sound like a zarjaz younger brother! Would love it if my younger brothers sent me some goodies too, but yeah, the shipping ain't cheap!

Welcome and enjoy the banter

Thank you! Gonna go out on a limb here, but I don't suppose you live in Kent? I have a friend with a name that looks quite close to yours!!

I would love this!

I'm both incredibly happy and ashamed to say that I have bought every miniature available for the game (including the vehicles and hab-zone), but they're all still in the boxes because a) I can't paint and haven't plucked up the courage to go out and buy paints, nor can I find any decent painting guides, and b) I literally have nobody to play with!

I bought the starter set and a few extras purely on impulse without realizing that I kinda need to make a terrain landscape that looks even slightly like MC1, so the game is staring at me and saying and "Now what, dumbass?"

If there were a series of videos (or even a community of players on here), it will hopefully give me the kick up the arse I need to actually play the damn thing!

Borags, Dude. Welcome to the thrillsylum!

Thank you!! The weekend is finally here, so I'm gonna read some progs, watch Future Shock! on blu-ray, and generally refill my thrill-power gauge!

Well super glad to have you here and you decide to join us. Is there much a of 2000ad community in Japan?

Not so much for 2000 AD, but Judge Dredd is kinda popular among guys who have an eye for western comics :) Needless to say, my fellow ex-pats are aware of 2000 AD, but I'm always keen to extol the virtues of thrill-power to those who are yet to learn about it! (I often tell people that it's my biggest source of national pride - such an incredible anthology that is STILL going and on a WEEKLY basis at that!!)

Welcome to the board / Hi there, fellow Earthlets!

Like many of you, I have been a fan of 2000 AD since childhood (I started reading in 1985) and have been reading on and off ever since. I live in Japan, so physical copies of the progs is a bit tricky so I'm a digital subscriber these days.

I'm really glad to finally join the community and I look forward to reading all the threads and getting to know you all!

Cheers!
