It's London - you don't need to drive.

COMMANDO FORCES

This is how I will blend it in with the background. You will never notice it at all.
In fact that just looks like two squaddies stood in front of some snow.http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t136/commandoforces/Military/Camouflage.jpg">

Thought I'd revive this thread as it's only a couple of day's away...

Ticket's arrived, so who else is going, and when are you thinking of getting there?

Probably 8-ish, I guess - doesn't look good to appear too eager.

Is there a darkened corner where we can all lurk and hide our shame at being nerdy fanboys?

Natsan

Got my tickets a fortnight ago.Depending on how quick Rob gets his arse in gear and gets ready(with much nagging from me)I'm aiming for 8.30pm.

Question is; what's the music going to be like? I've not seen mention of DJs or bands.

Mike Carroll

My good lady and I will be there at around about eightish, depending on where we decide to go for dinner first.

We're setting out very early tomorrow morning for the difficult and lengthy journey that will - we hope - eventually lead us to the M50 motorway, about a mile away from the house. It's not going to be pleasant.

After we've put ourselves through that torture, we expect to arrive in London sometime tomorrow afternoon. We're staying until Saturday evening, so there will be lots of sight-seeing and shopping committed.

But back to the Big Event itself: are we taking bets on whether the average punter will be allowed to mingle with the special guests? Even if we're not, it should all be fun!

Hope to see you all there!

Cheers,
Mike

Can anyone suggest what kind of drawing utensil artists prefer, should I be lucky enough to get a sketch. Is a simple Biro sufficient?

El Spurioso

Um...

I'd suggest that you by all means bring a pad and a pen... but don't be too disappointed if a) the opportunity to ask for sketches doesn't arise or b) artists aren't really in sketching mode.  Remember this isn't a convention, it's a pissup...

Having said that, your average scruffy pencil monkey is a social disaster at the best of times, so handing him a sketchpad whilst propping-up a bar is often a mercy in disguise.

Just tread carefully...

Ha, ha! Cheers for the heads up Mr Spurioso! Will you be attending? If I have to resort to bribery by alcohol, it's a price worth paying!
At the very least, I'm hoping to get some drunken snaps with some of the 2000ad gang. I'm really looking forward to it!

Writers, on the other hand, can usually be found moodily ignoring their fellow human beings, clutching a glass of something foul.  That's for the first half-hour, of course, after which they can be found underneath the bar, sobbing about their childhood.
