He's been a model for the rule of law on the streets of Mega-City One for more than 30 years, and now Judge Dredd is coming to your home!

Pop Culture Shock Collectibles are pleased to announce they are the newest licensor for the classic British comic, 2000 AD. The range will launch with a statue of Judge Dredd – the lawman of the future.

This licensing agreement with 2000 AD's owners, Rebellion, will bring high-end statues of legendary characters from the famous comic book in both 1/5th and 1/4 scale.

This new 2000 AD series will offer highly detailed sculpting, masterful painting and the highest quality polystone in a line of statues that will please even the most discriminating fan – whether a 2000 AD reader or a collector of science-fiction or comic book memorabilia.

Pop Culture Shock made a name for itself with its Street Fighter™ and ThunderCats™ statue lines, distributed through Sideshow Collectibles and Diamond Distribution.

Jerry Macaluso, President and Founder of Pop Culture Shock Collectibles, said:
"I've been a big fan of the 2000 AD universe since my teenage years.
"At Pop Culture Shock Collectibles we only focus on properties we are passionate about, and this is definitely one of them. We are extremely excited to be working closely with Rebellion on this project and soon we will bring the ultimate representations of these iconic characters into collector's homes".

Matt Smith, editor of 2000 AD, said:
"It's great to see Dredd immortalised in a statue that both captures the essence of the character and makes him look pretty damn hardcore.
"This will be a great addition to any Dredd fan's collection and should introduce newcomers to the mind-bending world of Mega-City One."

Notes for editors
Pop Culture Shock Collectibles Inc (PCSC) was formed in 2007 to produce high quality collectibles. PCSC is owned and operated by sculptor and designer Jerry Macaluso, former founder of SOTA toys. Jesus Christ, that fat-suited Dredd had me cracking my knuckles in disbelief . Is it another license, or (hopefully) a one-off?

Neither, as mentioned in this thread already - it was a prototype version that was not approved and has been supplanted by the version in the pic at the top of this thread.

I take it the helmet is yet to be seen but the uniform is otherwise as portrayed in the first picture? (Sorry if I'm reiterating the obvious. Just want to be clear.)

That is correct, yes..

No, it isn't that one. That is an earlier version which has now been supplanted. Will have a word with Cesar.

Costumed vigilante 'The Statesman' may be gaining press coverage battling intoxicated baddies and wannabe burglars on the streets of Birmingham...

But now the real law is coming, and you can patrol your local neighbourhood in the guise of the country's most famous future cop thanks to a new Judge Dredd costume* from Cesar, available later this year.

The fantastic costume gives you everything you need to get into full law-giving character – a full body jumpsuit with muscle padding, plus utility belt with pockets for your phone and money, knee and elbow pads, detailed shoulder and eagle pads, boot covers, gloves and a shiny PVC helmet.

One of the most iconic British comic book characters ever created and the very antithesis of American spandex-clad superheroes, Judge Dredd has been bringing justice to the streets of Mega City One for three decades – and is to return to the silver screen later this year with a Hollywood adaptation starring Karl Urban (Star Trek, The Bourne Supremacy) and written by Alex Garland (Sunshine, 28 Days Later).

Published once a week in 2000 AD® and monthly in the Judge Dredd Megazine, Dredd is judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one. Created in 1977 by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra, Dredd patrols the dystopian streets atop his huge Lawmaster bike and dispenses violent justice with his Lawgiver gun.

Matt Smith, editor of 2000 AD, said:
"You see people dressed in lots of 'superhero' costumes but now everyone can be the lawman of the future, Judge Dredd.
"The helmet and shoulder pads make up one of the most iconic costumes in comic books, right up there with Superman's cape and Batman's cowl.
"Dredd is a uniquely British blend of satire, hyper-violence and action that has made him such an icon and a byword for the stern application of the law.
"What's certain is that he is the original British comic book hero – vigilantes spandex-clad superheroes had best beware as the judges take to the streets later this year!"

Judge Dredd said:
"Impersonating a judge is an offence, punk! Around these parts, I'M the law – thirty years in the iso-cubes, creep!"

*Solid helmet and 'Lawgiver' gun not included.

Time is no barrier.

A free online preview was downloaded in its thousands, and now master storyteller Eric Brown's hotly anticipated new time-bending novel is set to hit bookstores.

A troubled novelist tries to hide from the past on a remote and idyllic Greek island as the 20th Century draws to a close. But when he falls in love it threatens to unleash the horrors that haunt him. Meanwhile, more than 60 years in the past and hundreds of miles away, two writers are called by their friend to investigate strange goings-on in Hopton Wood. Their discovery – a strange alien creature – will bring their world, and that of the reclusive novelist in the future, into a gripping and unexpected collision.

Ten years in the writing and his most ambitious novel to date, Eric Brown has crafted a tale of rare scope, populated with emotionally powerful characters. The Blue Portal, a 15,000-word preview of The Kings of Eternity, was downloaded thousands of times on its release on iTunes in December last year.

"A superb novel, rich with precisely the kind of speculation that SF exists for, providing a mesmerising slow-burn of intrigue, tension and human interest that compelled me to read it in one sitting." Peter F. Hamilton on Kings of Eternity

"Perfect. Eric Brown has reinvented the scientific romance for a new century. Intense, elegant, moving, this is Brown's best yet."Stephen Baxter on Kings of Eternity

One of the strongest voices in contemporary science-fiction, Eric Brown captures all the enthusiasm and sense of wonder of the great writers of the Golden Age of Science Fiction. Breathing new life into one of the oldest SF themes of all – first contact – Brown's Helix and Kéthani dealt with the emotional, social and political fallout of the shocking moment when we realise we are not alone in the universe, on both the grandest and humblest of stages. The Kings of Eternity continues in this rich vein, showing the effect of this epoch-changing moment on the lives of a handful of people over the course of decades.

About the Author
Eric Brown is the award-winning author of a huge number of SF novels, children's books, radio plays, articles and reviews, including Helix, The Bengal Station Trilogy, The New York Trilogy, Kéthani, Engineman, Guardians of the Phoenix and The Fall of Tartarus. www.ericbrown.co.uk
