Man, they are trying to kill me.
This is a new partwork from Eaglemoss.
I adore Batman, he's my favourite comic character.
Just when you think you are out...

I feel your pain. There's no way I can miss this but it will be my fourth collection on top of the two 2000ad ones and the DC Comics one.

Along with the Mega Collection and the ultimate collection I still am getting Build a Millenium Falcon (although nearly done), Build an R2-D2, DC collection, Marvel Collection and Complete Dr Who (which should finish next summer). Oh, and the Star Trek GN collection.
I enjoy them all but they rather a drain on resources.
Had a fun conversation with my wife about the 2000 AD partwork. It roughly went: "I don't mind you subscribing to all this stuff. As long as you don't go nuts and end up buying more than (pause) about five things." And then I counted everything up.
2000 AD
Megazine
Three of those Marvel reprint monthlies
Doctor Who comic
Dredd and 2000 AD partworks
She wasn't overly impressed. Mind you, Dredd's done next summer, Doctor Who comic's barely appearing these days (quarterly, now, bizarrely), and so that's one and a half gone!
Oh, I thought we had another year of Dredd. That makes things a bit easier.
Issues 76/77 showed up today, so 13 more issues remain. So July 2018 should be when #90 shows up, by my count. I'm assuming they won't extend again, having stated categorically that they won't. (Although, you know, partworks...)
And I'll be happy when Dredd's done, on account of it being a large chunk of cash. By contrast, the entire Marvel subs are each only a little over one month of one partwork.
Ouch - just posted on another thread about this. Serves me right.
Honestly, this looks a very nice set indeed.
Been meaning to catch up on Snyder (not that one)/Capullo's New52 run, and this looks the perfect way to do so.

I'm not a huge fan of Snyder on Batman but don't begrudge the books being included. There's so much good Batman stuff that it'll be hard to go too far wrong.
I'd love a volume or two concentrating on crossovers - Batman/Dredd, Batman/Predator, Batman/Punsiher. There's been some pretty good stuff over the years. I guess it may be hard to get the rights to print these though.
Just seen in my local Smiths - issue #1 is out now.
(Had no idea it was due out, so a bit of a bat-bonus as I grabbed the latest 2000ad ult. coll. volume).
I bought a copy of #1 yesterday.
I am subscribing and as soon as my sub issue of #1 arrives I'll donate this copy.
As usual with Eaglemoss books these are very nice editions.
I'm fully signed up. Just couldn't resist it.
Volume #1 is a very nice looking book, and the first 6 volumes all look like must haves (DKR is one of them, which I've never owned in HC).
And they're including Paul Pope's fantastic Year 100, which is great news.
Any subscriber received anything yet?
I am bereft of Cambridge.
Yep, I've had the first delivery.
I was fortunate enough to find the first two of these in WH Smith's. The first at the one at Gravesend on my way to work, the second my local at Dartford. Not sure I'll be getting them all. I didn't intend to, as I lack the space* and I'd intended to complete the Dredd collection at some point and get at least some of a certain other 2000AD collection. The previews are of what is to come are all tempting however... I doubt I'll get them all, but I will likely get more.
The first volume was decent. I'm not sure about a retelling of the Batman origins in a modern setting, and I miss the noirish tone of Frank Miller's take on the origins (a volume to come!) but the story is good, and the art is lovely, although I thought the batmobile design a bit rubbish. (It does some cool stuff I've never seen in a batmobile, though.) I've yet to read volume two.
* My two bookshelf cabinets are almost full already, and my room won't easily accommodate another. There are a couple of shelves I brought from my previous residence that I never got round to installing however, but I don't really trust myself with a drill. I guess there always the floor...

Thanks.
How long ago?
I've had the last 5 deliveries from Eaglemoss, the DC collection, go missing.
Seems like one of my posties is a comics fan :(
I think it was before Xmas - if not it was very soon after. Definitely during my time off work. The first delivery was a fairly hefty one as it contained Zero Year parts 1 and 2 and also Born to Kill along with a few art prints.
Thanks.
I'll give them a call today :(
I've also had the welcome/confirmation email come through about 4 times on different days so I think their admin may be a little ropey!
Thanks James.
I did call them up and discovered that they failed to move my details over from the test subscription to the live one.
This has now been sorted (hopefully) and he's arranged for me to have 2 free books.
I have had problems with receiving packages from Eaglemoss but to be fair their CS is very good, based in England with clear phone lines, and they have sorted any issues very quickly.
A step up from Hachette's CS imo.
I recently picked up volume 3 Born to Kill, but the spine artwork doesn't match with the first 2. Are they publishing these out of sequence like the 2000 AD Ultimate Collection? If so, why is this one marked volume 3 and not the corresponding volume number?
The volume number is on the back cover. Issue 3 is Volume 57.
Ah, I see it now. It's confusing though because it says 'Volume 3 Born to Kill' at the top of the back cover, while it says 'Chronological Order: 57' at the bottom. It would have be simpler to put the number on the spine.
I've bought the first 3. Have all these so far been from the new 52? I was a pretty big Bat fan up until Knightfall and all that Azrael malarky.
Quite enjoyed what I've read so far, but probably not enough to commit the best part of a grand and a shed load of shelf space to a full set.

yes, both Batman & Robin and the Snyder/Capullo Batman books launched at that time although the Zero Year story came later. Next Up is the first arc of the Detective Comics New 52 book as well, then Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, then back to what I think is the first arc of New 52 Batman.
Anyone else received an email about the free poster?
It starts off by saying I have been 'chosen' but the cynic in me thinks pretty much all subscribers will have been 'chosen' for the poster 'worth' £15 of the evolution of the Batman symbol.

I bought the latest issue in the newsagent today and instead of the usual subscriber note there was a flier saying go online and enter this code for a free poster. For the record the code is BATUK1 from legends-of-Batman.com/poster

Yes, I picked that issue up.
I won't be getting the poster though. It's interesting to see how the bat symbol has changed over the years but it's not my cup of tea for a poster!
I've been subscribing to these, and I have to say that having subscribed the JDMC and the 2000ad collection, the variation in size of these is a little off putting. Some of them have very low page counts (Golden Dawn, I'm looking at you), and I don't think any of them equal the size of the hachette volumes. They have made some variation inevitable by not putting any padding (i.e. only including one main arc in each volume, avoiding one-shots etc) in there, but really, the Golden Dawn issue only really amounted to half a volume IMO. I love Bats, but don't know if I'll stick with it.
I pick up them from WH Smith's in Dartford, but I realized they seem to be skipping issues. (Or the issues in between sell out before I get there.)
Still, I've been happy to get them as they're nice quality things and at £9.99 each great value for a hardback.
The latest issue they have, however, is £25.99! It is described as 'double length' but it looks around the same width as my others, marginally wider at most. I didn't get that one.

The Marvel ones were the same. Some of the books were properly chunky. Many were skinny little things, collecting a five-issue trade.
I was nosing around for some more information on what would be coming in this partwork earlier today and came across this page with details of the french version. There are some discrepancies but its a little help all the same:

Loong time lurker on this forum but I figured I'd sign up to post this.
Got this list of the Legend of Batman books off the comments section on one of the Eaglemoss Facebook posts. Someone (I'm assuimng mods) deleted it when I went back to check it again.
Now I can't vouch for its accuracy at all beyond saying that when I got it they had only announced up to Court of Owls and with the next batch of announcments (up to issue 13) the list has been spot on.
Obviously this list only goes up to 60 and there are now going to be 80 books in the partwork so it's not complete.

That's amazing, thanks for posting @Strangeday.
I also noted Forbidden Planet are listing a good few months in advance (https://forbiddenplanet.com/?tag=&q=Legends+Of+Batman>in=&size=20&sort=date-desc) so that's helpful information for the immediate future of the series.

No worries mate, the eaglemoss site updates with the latest ones too, but fairly infrequently (only up to issue 13 at the moment)
Been enjoying the collection so far as I think the last Batman book I read was Knightfall back in the 90's.
Only book I really didn't think much of so far has been Faces of Death.
Free poster arrived at the weekend.
And by poster I mean a piece of cardboard A5 size.
Still, free is free.
