News / In like Flint?
14 November, 2003, 12:24:45 AM
So I'm in my local newsagent and I saw a new title next to 2000ad called Strip! An adult comic filled with naked ladies. It had some bad art, with the exception of the cover drawn if I'm not mistaken by 2K's own Henry Flint. Am I mistaken?

Help! / prog 1309 in Ireland, WFF?!
24 September, 2002, 01:22:37 AM
Has there been a problem with shipping issue 1309 (the one with the Dredd and Baby cover), I'm in Ireland, not far from Dublin, and neither of my local news agents have 1309 in stock.

Has there been a mix up? Will it come in eventually, and if not where can i get it?

Nurse, don't bother with the screens!

Have to say I'm kind of disappointed by this strip.
It seemed like it was going to be the goods: Bloody Students, a fat wanker, a goth with dress sense (crazy) and a tasty bit of paint by Fegredo, and it would be a comedy (dire lack of laughs in most editions of 2k)

And what do we get movie references, lot's of references.

Blatant ones at that
Overall the strip piques my interest and gives me at least one laugh a week but that's hardly value for money is it?
Oh, may I add that I do actually think Si Spurrier is one of the comic's most promising writers.

General / FORT: PROPHET OF THE UNEXPLAINED

-----FORT: PROPHET OF THE UNEXPLAINED #1

From that awful comics continuum page:

By Peter M. Lenkov and Frazer Irving, cover by Iriving.

Lo! A mighty prophet of the unexplained has come forward to search out the truth and light the way for mankind. It's the end of the 19th century and the city of New York has been plagued by fish falling from the sky, strange lights in the night, bizarre collections of microbial goo, and vanishing citizens. It's up to one man to expose the truth behind these events...Charles Fort! A mild mannered librarian by day, Fort seeks out the truth and exposes the bizarre to the light of day. The real Charles Fort was one of first true investigators of the unusual and the paranormal. In this series, his heretofore unknown adventures can finally be revealed. -----

Well well. Seems lie mister Irving has been a bit quiet about this one (or maybe I just missed something).
Or sould I say, he's been a bit of a Dark Horse!
