I rarely post, but just popping up to say that I hope everyone who picks up a copy of this enjoys it. It's been a real labour of love, and it wouldn't have been possible to get it over the line without David's patience, Rebellion's support and some great scans of missing issues from Steve Holland. It's our largest release so far in terms of page count IIRC, and while Condor has a bit of an unfair rep as a Dan Dare-a-like, the three stories collected here show why he was so successful for so long, as Frank Pepper scripts a tight, fun set of adventures and Brian Lewis's art lifts it to the next level.

Thanks Colin! (thanks for the order too)

As Richard says, this is a labour of love, and without it turning into a backslapping fest, the work that no one will see that Richard put into this was extraordinary, for design and clean up, to reconstructing pages, just great. Steve Holland too came to the rescue with a lot of hard to find scans.

I do think this collection will be an eyeopener, not only to Captain Condor as a character, but also to Brian Lewis' amazing artwork!

My copy just arrived today as always very well put together nice introductions from Kevin Gosnell and David McDonald giving a personnel touch to the character and the team behind it and a afterward interview with Frank S Pepper from 1973. There are 3 stories included showing off the the story telling and artwork especially when they had only 2 pages per week to tell the story and needing a cliff hanger end. This definitely worth getting not just for the nostalgic value but for the story telling and artwork, Well done Hibernia

Another wonderful produce. The story is more Flash Gordon than Dan Dare in my mind... or maybe somewhere inbetween is a better view? The art is tight a lovely. You do have to wonder how fantastic artists like Brian Lewis would have been with more modern expressive page layout. I'd have loved to have seen that.

I'm also particularly impressed with the design's of Lewis worlds. While they are of their time they feel so much more modern than those of many of his contempories.

Long may these Fleetway Files continue... I can't remember what else was to come but I think there were hopes of another couple this year? Fingers crossed and all that.
