Well its a shame we haven't seen anymore of the trailers as they were absolutely great. I assume other priorities have taken over BUT is this a case of shelved for the time being or are they dead in water?
-
I assume it's because poor ol' W3bz hasn't had the time.
-
I reckon Tharg should release a few images or pages of up and coming Thrills and make a compo out of it - I know I'd enter...

Done!

Wow, wow wow, if I wasn't excited enough about this thrill.
Glad I asked now!
Superb job fellas

Just bumping this to see if there are any more in the pipeline? 2000 AD #1700 is coming up and I suppose we should also be looking forward to Prog 2011...
Also does 2000AD have a YouTube channel yet with all the old ones on view? As mentioned here:

If I were Rebellion, I'd be having a look at making trailers based on stories that they're going to launch as TPBs in the states?

He speaks the truth. I'd even suggest a montage one to announce this new initiative.
Sticking them on YouTube means people can post them on their blogs when mentioning the books and word will spread.

3 more in the pipeline for the rest of this year boss. We've been a bit spanked for time - we certainly love doing them and I'd love to get the more regular but we'll have to see ;)
-
here be a mighty 'trailer'

Good news.
And a 2000AD YouTube channel so the faithful can Spread the Word virally?
-
That certainly is good news they're really good fun and a good way to spread the word. Steve Green makes a very good point since you're launching stuff in America that might be the way to go. Its the sort of stuff the big news sites might pick up on over there?

No.

I'm afraid it is where a lot of people are and you can scoop up a lot of viewers. Be sure to give us the link.
I'm more a Vimeo guy myself :P
Which I find has the usability of a truculent goat ;) I wince if there is only a Vimeo version available (plus I think it went through a period where my Flashblocker made it impossible to play any of their videos).

Bah same on and off happens with Youtube on blockers - and Vimeo may have a less friendly interface but then that's the point right? I don't have to spend time looking over posts (of course I trust this rabble implicitly :D). The deadlines are a little tight here at the moment, I'm doing the trailers at home, so I'll try and sort it out to make ya'll happy ;)

Bah, Vimeo vids don't play on the iPad so, can we have a YouTube channel too? Steve was spot on too, trailers of forthcoming American trades would be good, I'm sure some of us lot could help out.
-
More people watch YouTube than Vimeo.
More people watching = more people aware of product = potential for more people buying stuff.
-
Yes yes, it's the MySpace of the video world ;)
-
More like the Facebook of the video world. I'm not sure what the MySpace of the video world would be. I really never want to see it though.
-
Depending on the artwork it would be worth looking at newer collections - if they were assembled digitally there may be instances where portions of the panels are separate which obviously makes it a lot easier.
In the case of older artwork you've got the extra work of filling in the gaps if you lift characters from the background.
Rebellion also the best copies of the art, outside of those people who own the original art.
Why not run a compo to do a trailer for a trade? Even possibly approach some of the After Effects tutorials sites like Videocopilot, supply decent res elements and see if anyone fancies a go?
You'd need to offer a decent prize - maybe some original art, but I'd say it's worth a try to see if there's any interest...

Worse yet, the Geocities version ;)

All great ideas for sure - I've always wanted to up the time spent on them :D, so who knows, maybe we'll get somewhere in the next...ohh I dunno, 5 years... ::)

Hmm, Webz- I'm detecting a slight leakage in your despair buffer system. Better get that fixed before you end up visiting Mek-Quake.
(I mean you sound a bit cheesed off- It can't be all that bad, can it? For what it's worth- you are appreciated)
-
I know you are stretched mighty thin w3bz, so I'd be happy to sort it all out for you - register the account, upload the videos and throw a few favourites around on 2000AD related goodies.
-
Oooooh W3bz, hope I didn't nark you in any way! It was a genuine offer for help and, sadly, I do enjoy making little trailers!

 no not at all, I'm feeling the pressure and want to spend more time on 2000 AD but I'm not getting the chance at the moment ::)

Thanks m'man - I didn't mean to sound cheesed off, it's just like I've said above, not enough hours in the day currently ;)

Ignoring the glaring typo... ;) I'll get that sorted out this evening and send you the account details.
How many trailers are there? Defoe, Cradlegrave and... is that it? I think I might need a direct link to the mp4 file for Cradlegrave (and any others) and I can get them online.
-
What typo? (Fist in air at being Admin!) :P
Cool yeah there's the compilation one too in the media section of the main website.
Fanks :D*
*Intentional typo...
-

It is, embarrassingly still spelt wrong - no "e" on the end and an "r" instead of a "w".
Cool yeah there's the compilation one too in the media section of the main website.
Righto.

Righto. One question - does Vimeo compress the video and if so is the download from them the raw video the streaming version is based on? I'm happy to wait if it means getting hold of the best quality source.
